But I am still pleased with my purchase
These weren't quite what I expected. But I am still pleased with my purchase.The design itself is lovely, and while the blues are blue, the "white" is not white at all. It's beige. This is raw wool, no dying involved. It is also course, being 100% wool. I would wear some thin socks because anywhere that is snug, is likely to be abrasive. There is no thick cushion, rather thin, but still surprisingly comfortable. The construction is great, no flaws, well sewn, no weak spots that I can see, consistent quality throughout. I got these because I wanted a light summer type house boot. Something primarily for indoors, but something I won't ruin running out to the mailbox in. These work well for that purpose, and I love the design on the sides. I would round up if you are in between sizes, that worked well for me. These are not over large. I usually wear an 8 1/2 wide, I rounded up to 9, and these fit perfectly. Slightly shorter, but slightly wider than I am accustomed to a standard size 9 fitting me. These are not made narrow, but at the same time, they are not particularly roomy either. As I said, the 9 worked wonderfully for me. They fit without allowing my foot to slide around, but they don't squeeze or pinch either. They just fit perfectly.
