Worst-looking book I have ever purchased
This is a terrible quality book. The formatting makes me wonder if someone scanned the pages of an old copy and fed the low-resolution results through a program designed to convert image to text. There are weird line breaks, single quote marks that should be double, spaces in the middles of words and before punctuation marks, missing words, extra words in bold capslock, lowercase letters that should be capitalized ... it’s a nightmare. There are no page numbers, and the first several pages are just black and white scans of an early edition of the book (and they aren’t even printed straight on the paper). The whole thing looks like a bootleg college textbook that some kid would have sold in the ‘90s. I bought this as a gift but would be embarrassed to give it to anyone. It’s barely readable. I requested a refund from Amazon.

As good as it was to me decades ago
I loved this book as a child and, because my sisters constantly (still) refer to me as Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, I decided that I should re-read it to see if it was as good as I thought it was when I was nine. I'm 67 and I loved it. It was like starting it all over again. The writing is vivid and eloquent - and describes the completeness of a life from long ago perfectly. I have saved so many books for second or third readings and am realising that I'd better get onto them because... I'm 67 - and this was worth the gorgeous time that it took to read. A gem. A real charmer, a gift.

One of my favorite books to quote from
The girl’s eyes were soft and tender and the heart within her stretched a little and grew; grew in sweetness and intuition and depth of feeling. It had looked into another heart, felt it beat, heard it sigh; and that is how all hearts grow."Great, wide, beautiful, wonderful World,With the wonderful water round you curled,And the wonderful grass upon your breast,World, you are beautifully dressed [William Brightly Rands]

Formating not user friendly.
The pages in this book were huge, but had small packed type on each page. It was exhausting to the eye and would have made my 5th grader cry to be assigned those pages to read. It definitely seems like a lot of text per each page.

Do not purchase this book.
The copy, editing of this book is NOT good. There are paragraph breaks where 2-3 sentences are intertwined. Page breaks are not cohesive. Punctuation is almost nonexistent. It is totally unreadable. DO NOT PURCHASE this edition.

No page numbers
I was really unhappy with this edition actually. Other than the fact that it’s a larger, not traditional book size, there wear not any page numbers inside.

Unformatted Book
This review is for the item from this link: Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1903) children's novel by Kate Douglas Wiggin The formatting of this book is horrendous. I've seen fanfictions that have been better edited. It looks as if someone typed up the novel, but didn't bother to use proper paragraphing, capitalization, or punctuation. The book also seems sketchy because the physical book has no publishing information (besides the original publisher, which is photo-copied). I'm astonished that Amazon would list this product.

Is this copy even legal?
This is a great old story but this layout is cumbersome and awkward. Artwork looks like poor copies of work from another book. I could not find anything that looked like a real copyright. I don't think this copy is even legal, find a better, bona fide copy somewhere else.

One Star
Very disappointed. The print was impossibly small. I got it on Kindle to read instead.
