Dutch Jel Bulk Fruit Pectin, 1.8 Pound

I use this to save money making my Purple Pectin Arthritis Remedy.All other recipes were too expensive, I use this instead of Certo.I do have to use my blender for 2 to 3 minutes but thats quite alright and I use Wal-Mart Great Value Grape Juice for mine instead of Welchs as well.This powder does not measure the same as that liquid stuff.About a fourth teaspoon pectin is all I need for 2 cups of grape juice, even half that would likely still work nicely, or half of that.I like using the 1\4 teaspoon per two cups grape juice so far for me that's the best ratio to help me.I'm still trying to work that out about what amount works for my needs, as I am not a professional nor a doctor, nor am I offering any medical advice.I'm just sharing this review just in case there is someone else out there looking to find an affordable version of Purple Pectin Arthritis Remedy.I have not tried Dutch Gel yet to make jam or jelly, with its quality and price I will try it for that also.

This stuff is amazing. My husband likes to make hot spicy jelly/jam because he cannot find the amount of heat he likes from products available at the store. He was a Ball pectin only user, but it was making his hobby way to expensive. Then I found this. Now he can make his jelly to his hearts content, as this is so cost effective and works as well, if not better, than the Ball brand. He noticed that this leaves a better color from his fruits in the end result. At first he thought that this wasn't working because he was use to seeing his jelly set within an hour or so this does take longer but I think gives a better resulting jelly.Now for those who think that there is no pectin in this that's not true according to the ingredients list. I've taken a picture of it. The seller got this to us on Friday and we weren't expecting it til the next Tuesday. They also had it as 1.8 lbs and we received 2.04 lbs. I would recommend this product and seller to everyone.

I normally use Ball Original Pectin, but I've had a hard time finding it lately on Amazon and my local store has started carrying only the reduced sugar variety. I have a ton of canning to do for Christmas, so I decided to take a chance and order this Pectin instead. So far I have made about 17 pints of jam and every recipes has set up well.The pectin comes with instructions for use, which makes it easy to figure out how to use it in your favorite recipes. Overall, I am very happy and will be coming back for the larger bag next time!

There is no zero star option on amazon review and it won't let me submit my review without giving them at least 1 star. I give this product a minus 5 star rating. We make jelly as part of our business. This product is garbage. We made 6 batches of jelly increasing the amount of pectin each batch all the way up to 4 times the normal amount we use with name brands and none of the batches set fully. This defective product has cost us valuable time and money. Their return window expired before we discovered the product is garbage. We will never purchase from them again.

Just like the stuff you buy in those little boxes, but at a fraction of the price. Bulk gives me the opporunity to make larger batches and play around with different recipes without being tied down to a little box... get the larger size it lasts for a few years if kept cool and dry. I've been buying bulk for years and recommend it to others.

Works very good. Always have a good set for both jams and jellies.

It was ok, but seems weaker than the other manufacturers!
