consider these
I got this to light up crochet work. Dark yarn in routine light makes dropped or missed stitches a problem. This is true with a small thread projects. I have tried other styles of around neck lights. I've tried head style light. I had problems with them. Most other around neck style lights move with any change of my position. All I have are battery powered and they get heavy. The head style I have also have magnifying lenses. With these I need to have head tilted forward which fatigues my neck. In addition with too many projects I can use light or magnification. These take a bit to get light positioned and used to. Once in position they stay. I can use these upright, reclining or semi reclining. The lights are more than bright enough to crochet in dark. Rating 4 stars as I don't know about battery or bulb life. Lights are bright for use with LCD screen, a lot of glare. I can use these easily with my head style magnifying lenses for detailed work.

I like the recharging vs replaceable batteries
I like the recharging vs replaceable batteries. I would prefer all wide angle lights instead of having spot lights. However, I suspect that without the spot lights it wouldn't be bright enough for my needs. I would like a setting with only red light to preserve night vision. (Red would also not attract flying insects when used outdoors.) I have been using it about 12 to 15 hours per week and I recharge it after about 3 hours of use. No problems so far.

Great extra light
I like this as it is bright and great for use around the house. I have trouble positioning it at night to read in bed, however, I have propped it up on my headboard and it seems to be working ok. I like to read at night and my husband doesn't like the lights on. This is helping, but it is still very bright on the lowest setting.

Great unexpected gift.
I bought this to use while maybe of a flight so I could knit, but decided to leave my yarn at home and keep this in my backpack. While in Peru, I visited Lake Titicaca and spent the night on one of the islands. We hiked to the top of a mountain on the island to watch the sunset. After it got dark, I didn’t have a flashlight to get down BUT I had the Orlight. It was perfect! Had it around my neck so my hands were free for balance. At its brightest, I had no trouble seeing as I went down the mountain. Perfect! It was the first time I even used it. The young lady who was hosting us in her Little Home marveled at this little light around my neck. She even showed her mother. She was just amazed by it. So I gave it to her. There aren’t many modern conveniences on the island. They use solar power for the few lights. I think it could be very useful working around the home when it gets dark. I didn’t have the charging cord with me, but through translating, I think she can get one. I hope she is enjoying it! I just ordered one to replace it. $13 isn’t a lot. And she was very happy when I said she could have it so that is worth a lot more than money. I can’t attest to the battery life or much but I liked the different levels of brightness and the bendy arms. Worth it!

VERSATILE, PACKABLE, EASY TO USE, AND RECHARGEABLE.....WOULD MAKE A GREAT GIFT!
Love this light. I purchased it for use in our RV trailer so that I could read quietly without having to turn on a light (if I went to bed late or woke up early) When using it, I found it so comfortable I fell asleep with it on around my neck....that was nice and convenient when I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night....worked great as I shielded some of the light from just one light, using just enough to see my pathway. No one woke up so that was great. ...I LOVE that it has two levels of light in each end, so you actually have a number of levels of light intensity....also appreciate that it is rechargeable....no more wondering where the batteries are. The carrying case is also a nice feature and keeps the light, the little book reader tool, and the rechargeable cord in one bag. I plan to get another one or two...one for the house and one for my car. This item would be a TERRIFIC Christmas gift, as it is an attractive design and very practical....am sure the recipient would LOVE this gift.

I first heard of a similar product from my sister-in-law ...
I first heard of a similar product from my sister-in-law, who had tried to buy one for me for Christmas 2016. As a fellow bedtime reader, she thought I would appreciate it as well. Unfortunately at the time, it was no longer available. Because she mentioned that hers was no longer functioning as well as it originally did, she regretted it for both our sakes.Come Christmastime 2017, I researched several varieties currently available on Amazon. We purchased this one to give to her, for which she was most appreciative! At the time, I did not realize the one she previously had required batteries but this was both LED and rechargeable.Giving a well-received gift is a treasure of its own and I was especially thrilled to later hear that after we left the room she said "Do they know how to give a gift or what?!!"Would definitely buy again for myself or as a gift. It's on our "best of" list.

Good price
Neat little gadget. Comes with a pointless pad on the neck that ripped out a ton of hair till I decided to tear it off. Not very balanced, was hoping to use it for more than just laying in bed but it slips and falls a lot. Good brightness though and I’d recommend for any reader.

Perfect solution!
I needed more light for reading in bed but didn't have an easy way to add a lamp. This is perfect! It is so lightweight that I don't even notice it around my neck, and the switches are simple to use. Just one of the four bulbs is enough for me, but I am sure it is also going to find use as a flexible, high-powered flashlight to look into tiny spaces. I will probably be ordering more as gifts.Additional comments:I have just ordered another for my granddaughter so she can read in bed without a flashlight! She will love it. If you are giving one as a gift, you may want to buy a plug-in charger to go with it. It comes with a cord but not the part that plugs into the wall.
