Central Asia 6 (inglés) (Lonely Planet)

Excellent
Outstanding book for the Stans, especially in 2014 with the newest edition. I traveled through Kyrgyzstan and also brought the Bradt Kyrgyzstan book, which had nearly 300 pages on Kyrgyzstan alone. Nevertheless, I found the Lonely Planet chapter on Kyrgyzstan (less than 100 pages) more useful. The info was right on the mark and better organized. I also used the book for Astana, Kazakhstan, and again LP did a great job with that. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to the Stans.

Recommendable, but check out the maps twice before you go
The guide is very good, as the usual LP standard goes. We found everything we needed concerning our travel, the only downside are sometimes inaccurate big maps and sometimes the mentioned cities would need map (i.e. there's a accommodation mentioned in the big city, but there's no map of the city). The phone numbers are sometimes outdated, but that seemed to be an occassional flaw which cannot be helped as people in Uzbekistan seem to change numbers rather quickly.Definitely recommended for traveling the region, but if you are on a bike/in the car, get an extra map for each country you might want to pass, as it's not very reliable in the book and borders in this part of the world matter.

fun, stunning
if you are even considering this region , GO! It is absolutely marvelous. Interesting, fun, stunning, civilized. Go with MIR or Road Scholar whose trips are run by MIR . MIR is great. Road Scholar is a frustrating, badly run, overpriced, low brow joke. MIR is excellent. The guidebook is a good supplement for use on any tour. But because of very difficult border crossings , best to go with a tour

Another excellent guide by Lonely planet
Even though it was published at 2014, After almost 3 years most of tips are still relevant. it could be more helpful if there were more photos of the sites and not to jump to google all the time, But generally another excellent guide by Lonely planet.

Since I didn't have any leeway in my itinerary, ...
Since I didn't have any leeway in my itinerary, a lot of the details are either irrelevant or impossible to evaluate -- hotels, restaurants, how to get around was already plotted. Sometimes I just use Lonely Planet to sort out the details of places visited when I'm editing photos; the visit to central Asia was one of those times.

Good travel reading for Central Asia
Lonely Planet is always fun to read, even if it's about areas I may never get to! I am interested in Uzbekistan because of its colossal architecture (I can't even build a house of cards), and this book has made for some "dream" reading. As always, it's well presented and helpful and PRACTICAL.

LP Rocks!
Despite having a host of other guidebooks, we felt our trip to Central Asia could never be complete without this guidebook.

Rien a redire !

Going to Central Asia? Trust this guide
Gives plenty of detail and sound, practical advice on costs and logistics. Travel in Central Asia can be a challenge - these challenges are laid out clearly together with plenty of ideas on how to avoid mishaps, find friendly and different places to stay and things to do. Very thorough, entirely readable and sympathetic to the region and its peoples. It's a wonderful region to explore and this guide is a huge help.
