Beautiful Book
Shel: Is it weird that I refer to Tiffany Reisz as THE QUEEN? Because in my mind when I think of her and her books, that's how I think of her. Actually, if I'm totally honest, I think of her as OUR QUEEN. The queen of all of the OS fans' hearts. Her novels are so freakin easy to love. You start on page 1 and then before you know it, it's midnight and you have no idea where your day went, if people were fed, if you answered questions, or signed away your life. The Angel was no different than anything else I've read in this series--I consumed this novel in a few short days because I didn't want to put it down.Court: Shel is not wrong. These books are so much more than you would ever imagine. This series brings in so many things: erotica, love, sadists, BDSM, catholicism, faith, and one of the best writers that I have had the privilege of devouring her books. (Trust us, the sadism part isn't as scary as you are thinking!)Shel: As you can see by the synopsis, Nora has to leave her priest to protect their relationship; she takes Michael with her to Griffin's place and this story is the focus of one of the major plot points. We watch as Nora misses Soren, "trains" Michael, and gently nudges Michael and Griffin in the direction both of them so desperately want and continue to deny themselves. I loved the way that this storyline was crafted--the adoration and love and sweetness seemed to touch so many pages of this part of the story. Court: It is definitely an onion book, and by that I mean as each layer is peeled back...we get more and more and more. The amount of information we get about the present, and how our characters move about...and what we get about each of their pasts. It all blends together to a wonderful part II of this series, and makes the series even stronger.Shel: In another major plot point, we get to know more about Soren + Kingsley, Soren + family, and Soren + Nora when an investigative reporter starts digging into Soren under the suspicion of him being an abuser of some sort. This storyline was extremely interesting and helped me get to know Soren and Kingsley in more depth. I felt like I could feel more of the tension between Kingsley and Nora and understand it more than I had in The Siren. I can definitely see how this storyline is preparing me for the next books in this series. Having an outsider, Suzanne, challenge Soren and learn more about him and fall under his spell was a great way to show us some of what we didn't know before and enhance ideas and parts of the mythology of these characters that we'd come to know in book 1. Court: I didn't see ANY of what happened coming, and I love that we are always on our toes...but not so in that we don't also get fun times, sexy times, some life lessons, and even some humor and banter. Understanding these characters is a big part of the picture, and I fell even more in love with each of them for different reasons. AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL TO DO WITH HOW IT ENDED. I must devour the next book as soon as possible!Shel: A very important plot point, and one that sets us up for The Prince, I think, is the story of Nora + Wes. Their love is haunting them both--try as they might they cannot seem to let the other go. We see time and again with Nora and Wes and while absolutely nothing is resolved there is a promise of more to come at the end. Court: *holds my hand over my mouth*Shel: I love this series and am very much looking forward to The Prince, a novel I hope to tackle in April (NOTE: I read this a while ago and left Court in the dust...sorry Court!). I am eager to see what happens with the missing file of Nora and continuation of stories for all of the characters I've come to love in this series. Court: As always, I am behind. And Shelley is a goddess, so hopefully we will have our series review continue soon! But start this series as SOON AS YOU CAN, because Tiffany Reisz is a writing goddess, and this series packs some powerful punches.

Tiffany Reisz is a Goddess with a pen! 5 Brilliant STARS!!!
The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz has completely consumed me. This is hands down one of the best series I have had the pleasure of reading. Reisz is brilliant in her writing and capturing the distinct personalities of each of her characters. She writes characters that are multi-layered, that will find their way into your heart and mind. They are dark, funny, witty, charming, promiscuous, damaged, sexy, shy, and just an absolutely delicious cast to read. It seems Reisz has come up with her own formula and is very clever in her execution. For those that are new to this series, and haven't read the first book ,The Siren, you must start there, this book is not stand alone. Also, take everything you believe about sex, love, promiscuity, religion and BDSM, particularly S&M, and put it away. If you are not willing to open your mind to a darker story and withhold judgment then this series isn't for you. This story begins a little over a year after The Siren, and life is good for Nora and Soren that is until trouble shows up at Sacred Heart in the form of reporter named Suzanne. Soren is being considered for a promotion to bishop, and Suzanne has received an anonymous fax suggesting a conflict of interest involving the good priest. Of course her first thoughts are that Soren is a pedophile. Soren decides to send Nora and 17 year old Michael to Upstate New York to stay with her friend Griffin until things cool down with the nosey reporter. Soren suggests that Nora take this time to train young Michael as a submissive. This sets in motion a crazy fun ride with Griffin and Nora at the helm. Griffin is the carefree, fun loving, playboy , and was such a fun character to get to know, I just adored him. Nora is magnificent as usual, funny, charming, insightful, and very sweet with those she cares for. Soren, I have a love/hate relationship with, I hate I love him! Then there's Michael, he's so sweet, and has such battered self-esteem and self worth.Nora hasn't spent any time away from Soren since she went back to him a little over a year ago. Now in Upstate New York with her friends, her thoughts start to stray back to a young man that she has loved , and has been her best friend. A young man she pushed away so she wouldn't keep hurting him. I loved this part of the story, there was a moment my heart was just soaring!A lot of information from Soren and Nora's past come out in this book, matter of fact, there's something revealed about everyone in this story, some of it is dark, and there are some surprises as well. One thing I have noticed in this series, is that characters all come from a damaged past, but that is not why they like the kink they do, they do because it's just part of their make up, who they are. They would be kinky even without the scars from their past.I loved the first book so much and loved this one just as much. The Siren was a bit darker, but The Angel still has the dark element, but is also more flirty and humorous.I actually laughed a lot with this book, and enjoyed every page. This series has landed on my very favorites shelf, and one I could read over and over. The Original Sinners and Tiffany Reisz go beyond stars for me. I give my 5 stars, but it was so much more. Fans of the series will not be disappointed! Many Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the advance copy.
