After 12 months of easy, delicate use, these speakers are falling apart.
These speakers are a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. After 12 months of use, these speakers have started to break down. Sometimes 1 speaker works. Sometimes no speakers work. Sometimes the left speaker doesn't work. Sometimes the right speaker doesn't work. Occasionally, both speakers work. After a lot of research, I found out how to reach this company. They DO NOT reply to any of my requests for assistance.Knowing that these speakers are breaking down after 10 months, I would not buy Swan Speakers - T200C again. Hindsight is 20-20. In my opinion, buyers should avoid these speakers and this company that in my opinion DOES NOT stand behind the junk products that it sells to unsuspecting buyers. If I could give these speakers a zero star rating, I would. Unfortunately, I have to give them a minimum of 1 star.

BUY THESE!
Will update after a few months of listening...[UPDATE]Its been about 6 months since I purchased these and nothing can come close to the amazing sound I get from these speakers. I'm still "only" hooking them up to an old Audioengine D1 DAC/AMP combo and still the sound is rich and full. These speakers are big so be aware you have enough desk space. They look great and sound even better. For powered speakers, Swans is a sleeper brand but should not be overlooked!Over the course of the 6 months, music became clearer (perhaps break-in is a "thing") and I enjoy listening to my music all over again; hearing new details that I could not before.I am not sure if these are "professional" or "mastering" speakers but for the average audiophile for home listening, I can not think of many better than these.Get yourself a pair of these and do not look elsewhere.Where do I start:BUILD: These speakers are top notch. They come in a nice white cloth cover and the foam protects them for damage during shipping, so check right there. These speakers are tanks, they each weight at least 20 lbs. The 'main' speaker has all the inputs and the passive speaker has two connections, power and from the main speaker.SOUND: While I have only had a few hours with these, I already want to listen to more and more of my old music. In short, I'm hearing detail that I never thought I could from speakers. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and in certain tracks where I thought it was silence, I can hear instruments playing. I am coming from Hivi M10 speakers which I bought in 2009. They still work so anyone looking for a good, long last speakers should consider those. Anyway, the sound from these speakers are very detailed. Bass is ok, highs are ok, but man, that detail and clarity.I have these hooked up with the included cables (may upgrade in the future) to a simple Audioengine D1 Dac/amp combo. I will be upgrade this soon to a Schiit Joten due to the XLR connections. But I wanted to see how much difference changing one part of my audio set up can be.These speakers are on my desk, about 3.5 ft apart and about 2.5ft away from my head. I really like these angle upwards oh so slightly so no need for stands. Hivi knew these were meant for desktop use and already fixed the angle.SHOULD YOU BUY: Yes and yes and yes. Active speakers like this one is a good value since you do not need to purchase a dac and/or amp. In fact, they come with Bluetooth which can be paired with almost anything nowadays. Set up for that was easy!

Great Speakers except...
Sound quality is comparable for its price. The gloss piano black finish gives it a more modern look when compared to the MK models. These are active speakers, so expect a slight hiss if positioned within two feet.Purchased these in July 2018 and yesterday they stopped working. The rear heatsinks run fairly hot which is why the manual states to turn them off when not in use. Yesterday my computer had no sound when I toggled them on. The left speaker power indicator shows power, but the right main speaker would not light on. After hours of attempting to dissect the speakers, I found the cause to be a broken power rocker. Unfortunately this type of rocker is not replaceable as it is soldered to the pcb. By manually positioning the two rods in the rocker to make contact with the contact points, I was able to power it on. Not as convenient nor safe to toggle, but nevertheless my speakers are still alive. If you do consider purchasing these set of speakers, do not use the power rockers often as they will be doomed to break.

5 Star Sound Quality - 1 Star Customer Service.
*** Updated ***I finally received my cable so I changed my rating from 3 to 4 - I'm still dinging them one star for begin so slow to respond. If you're in need of a cable here's the link. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X3RWMN9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The sound quality of these things is 5 stars. The detail you can hear with these speakers is crazy good. They are the best sounding small form factor speakers I've heard - period. I say that and I'm using a streaming audio service and a bluetooth connection. I can't wait to see how they sound with a high quality audio file, a wired connection, and the second speaker working. So why 3 stars you ask? Their customer service is terrible!I purchased mine at an auction and the 5-pin XLR cable was not included. I called a few times but calls always went to voicemail so I emailed them and asked if I could purchase a cable directly from them. They responded almost immediately by asking me for my address so I thought sweet they are going to mail a cable to me. Wrong! Not only did I not receive a cable but I also have not received a response to my subsequent emails. I even asked them for the wiring schematic so I could build my own cable - no response.A company selling bookshelf speakers at a premium price should also provide premium customer service.

Making hiss noise after 10 months
It worked well for approx. 10 months, then it started making hiss noise as soon as powered on, it's so annoying that I can't use it anymore. I tried to contact Swans unfortunately they don't response to me, and since the return window expired, Amazon wouldn't help neither. I got $399 junk in hand now.I would not buy anything from this company anymore.
