Love Ire and Song

Incredible Album!
This quickly became one of my all time favorite albums after the first listen. It's one of those records you listen to over and over again screaming the lyrics at the top of your lungs.Frank Turner is the real deal; he is genuine, a very talented song writer and lyricist and he captures the passion he has in life in every single song he writes."Love, Ire & Song" is my particular favorite from the album (Although every track is phenomenal) due to it's honest and incredibly powerful lyrics telling the story of growing up, dealing with changes in ideology, perceptions, understanding of the world and the feeling of revolution to gain back the freedoms that so many gave so much to preserve, but were destroyed by hollow men and we've allowed these usurpations to continue; when we should be standing up and fighting for EVERY one of our rights. The man is brilliant, the album is amazing. Frank is down to earth and humble (All the sleeping souls are too) with a heaping dose of intelligence and wit.His lyrics/music speaks to me as a libertarian and someone who very much cares about my liberty, my rights and my home. His passion for his home country is quite admirable; and a passion I share, although for MY home country the USA.The only thing better than his recorded music is his live performance, raw, powerful, spectacular, genuine and FUN! I couldn't stop dancing and belting out the lyrics to every song at the top of my lungs. Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls put on one hell of a performance, not to be missed. He is truly one of the greatest poets and musicians of our time. I've followed him since his days in Million Dead (Also a phenomenal group with great music!) and through his solo career (Also Mongol horde- his new-ish hardcore project) and I am so glad to see him getting notoriety for his work and getting more mainstream play. Although it can be conflicting to see a underground artist breakout into the mainstream, some stay true to their roots and deserve every bit of praise, every single cent they can get and airtime so they can be heard by every person who likes GREAT music regardless of genres and scenes.BUY THIS ALBUM AND GO SEE A LIVE SHOW!!!!!

Love Turner & Album: A classic waiting to be enjoyed
An astounding blend of topics all covered with excellent care for the craft. Turner delivers one of the best albums of not only his career but in the history of the folk punk genre. Looking at a wide variety of subjects from desperation and loneliness to growing older and out of a simple-minded punk child phase to coping with the early death of a friend, the entire album is rich with fantastic writing, all of which is delivered with the pained bravado of a man trying to make sense of all the insanity that has brought him to the now of his life. A must own for any Frank Turner or folk punk fans and certainly worth listening to for who enjoys acoustic guitars and deep lyrical content.

Amazing Album
Love Ire & Song can really only be described as, well, Love Ire & Song. An album that demonstrates beautifully both sides of love, from the gentle ballad A Love Worth Keeping to the rhythmic and melodic To Take You Home, which talks about that common feeling we all know as love at first sight. There's also songs of separation that wish the ex-partner well i finding someone more suitable for them (Better Half). Like all of his songs, Frank uses an incredible amount of description in his songs, so much so sometimes that you think you are listening to an amazing piece of poetry instead of a song. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who is an already dedicated Frank Turner fan or someone who has just heard of him, and everyone in between.

Stunning
Frank Turner has inspired fanatical devotion in many British (and non-British) youths (and older persons) and with releases like Love, Ire, and Song, it's easy to see why.The accompaniment is spare, but still interesting, and the vocals are wonderful.Turner has a good voice, but what's most notable about it is its raw emotion, which fits his bluntly honest lyrics. "Reasons Not to Be an Idiot" shows his hopeful side, "Photosynthesis" his frustration, and the title track his sheer determination. On the romantic side, the burning pessimism of "Substitute" is balanced by the atypically sweet "To Take You Home." As for "Jet Lag," I've had to stop listening to it because it makes me cry. These are hardly all of the diverse offerings on this album. Love, Ire, and Song should appeal to diehard fans and newcomers alike.

Emotional, lyrical folk music
Emotional, lyrical folk music. Frank Turner showcases himself as a storyteller, with his raucous commanding voice searing over acoustic guitar and his accompanying band. This album is great to listen to as you feel Frank's emotion pouring through his singing and you can follow along in little chapters of his life. Top tracks for me are prufrock, long live the queen, reasons not to be an idiot, and the classic "photosynthesis."

New Frank Fan
I recently discovered Frank Turner on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts and have become a diehard fan in a matter of weeks. I promptly bought his newest cd, Tape Deck Heart. Then went searching for more. Frank is a true poet and his song lyrics are honest, raw and full of human truths. The song Long Live the Queen brought me to tears upon first listen. Photosynthesis has me singing along, loudly. Reasons Not to be an Idiot makes me smile. In fact, every song on this cd touches me in some way. I'm so glad to have discovered Frank Turner. You will be too.
