It arrived a little out of square, so that the lid didn't fully seat nicely. I figured out where it was off and slowly, gently bent the metal. I heard some cracking in the paint, so I guess it must have been a manufacturing issue. The lid itself was raw (unfinished) wood and not pleasant to the touch. So I sanded and soaked it in mineral oil. When I would try to scoop up a piece of butter, I found the tin twirling around on the table, so I indented the center of the bottom a little bit so that it would rest on the edges and stay put. After doing all those tweaks, it's a fantastic dish! Love the utility of it (can fit TWO blocks of Kerrygold) and the look and durability.

I loved this dish! It is adorable And well-made. Unfortunately it is a little larger than it appears. It ended up taking a little more room in my fridge than expected. I have a very small refrigerator and needed something a little more compact. I am sending it back but looking to see if the same type of dish is available in a slightly smaller size.

I love this butter dish it’s big enough to hold the double size stick of Kerrygold Irish Butter and the added bonus of little wooden lid you can use to rest your bread on while you butter it !

We love the Farmhouse style butter dish. It is very attractive stylistically, and we love the inverted concept. Instead of the standard flat bottom and heavy topped, dish that usually has a tiny nipple style handle on top, this concept holds tons of butter and the flat, lightweight top works great.

Very nice! The end to a long search for a butter dish large enough for my butter loving family. The most amazing thing is I'm saving butter now- maybe because it's not sitting out on a plate just begging to used!

I love that this butter dish is large enough to hold a couple sticks of butter. I keep it on the counter to have soft butter. And you can just lay your butter knife on top.

I can put a whole pound of butter to stay at room temperature in it and use the lid as a rest for utensils when using the butter.

I would have given this a 5 star rating.but the top stains easily.. I liked it so much that I went and bought some poly and after two coats No staining..Love this
