wow
Enjoyed the book helped me get out of a reading slump - honestly based on the reviews I thought it would be much worse than it actually is or is that just me?But either way a very good read.

feed me to the sharks I am done 🦈
First let me just say I only just finished this book, this review will no doubt be longer than their sins put together and Enzo’s 🍆 so read at your own risk of finding my excited babble. So believe it or not this is my first book by this author and yes I know have I been under a rock (please don’t throw stones at me) I have seen the duet but haven’t got to it yet, will I run to Amazon to get it now DAMN RIGHT!I am not sorry at all to admit my twisted, dark mind and soul totally loved this book. Please read trigger warnings and if you aren’t a lover of dark romance I would recommend giving this one a miss, if your soul is as dark as mine jump on in!This book has so many tropes that I would feel I cheated you if I didn’t lay them all out for you, so here we go- one bed- Breath play- Forced proximity- Enemies to lovers- Degradation + Praise kinkA dark, thriller romance - that spoke directly into my soul!!Our two leads are Sawyer and Enzo, my unholy hell are they explosively toxic together! A match made in hell, all I could do was hold on tight and enjoy the ride. They meet at a bar, have a night that neither of them will be able to forget and when morning comes *poof* that’s all folks or is it?!Sawyer she is devastatingly broken, lost, alone and undoubtedly sad. She is desperately running from a past that follows her wherever she goes. She can no longer stand the sight she sees looking back at her in the mirror. My heart bled for her, my soul darkened with hers and my head was screaming at her so many times. She runs and she runs, unfortunately for her (luckily for us) it’s right into a walking nightmare that goes by the name Enzo. Will her lies finally catch up with her?Is there anyone she can trust?Or will she keep on drowning in her sorrow?Enzo 😮💨😮💨 can you say walking, talking predator with teeth as sharp as his words?! He is a business owner and shark expert. (Baby shake get the FRICK out the way, there is a new daddy in town!)He doesn’t have the best past either, he doesn’t trust easily and definitely doesn’t open up - so much so he hasn’t found anyone he deems worthy enough to have kissed on the lips (pretty woman vibes NOT a chance in hell😆)I literally wanted to gut him like a fish SO many times, but I also wanted to jump his bones and breath his air into me.Will he be able to forgive her?If he does can he keep her safe from not only others but himself? The steamy steaminess in this book is *chefs kiss*, weak at the knees dirty and the places my goodness can someone get me a fan! 😮💨🥵🔥There was a few things within the book that I guessed early on and was literal screaming at them to see what I was seeing, hear me shout and run like your ars€ is on fire please!!There are lies, thrilling moments, hot AF steaminess, emotional moments and let’s not forget the 3rd lead the sharks 🦈😆Okay I am going to stop now, as you can see I clearly feel into an Ocean sized pit of love and I don’t think there is any coming back from it.

Good but not amazing
I think a common theme with this author is having to push through awful character intros. It feels fair to say after reading multiple books of hers now that she injects herself into the role of an angsty misunderstood woman who has some form of trauma or chip on her shoulder. They’re actually pretty insufferable to begin with, and have a childish obsession with swearing constantly in the most cringeworthy ways. And have a weird theme of abusive relationships, hiding behind sadism as a kink and obsession as a comfort. The male lead in this grows on you, sure.. but this relationship felt a lot more abusive and I struggled to move past some scenes and understand exactly how she became so obsessed with him so quickly. As someone who has suffered from abuse there should be more of a push and pull.. there is none. It’s too surface level with the female lead in regards to her feelings for male lead, given her past with abuse and his abusive nature even more so. The story in this is interesting, with the lighthouse and the lighthouse keeper.. that’s the most interesting part and keeps you invested. I feel the horrors could have unfolded more slowly throughout the book rather than all at once at the end, though there was a slight buildup. I understand the author has a kink for fear but it didn’t move well through the story in some scenes where they’re doing something serious, and then decide to have sex just because. I understand the concept but as a reader it didn’t work well all of the time. It was very irritating they didn’t focus as much as they should have on ‘ghosts’ and finding out about the creepy light house dude, I feel that would’ve been a priority for anyone staying there. There would have also been a smell from certain areas in the house given the discoveries and the coverup had many plot holes and wasn’t very well thought out. Meh.
