Recommended only for small quantity users.
These Smartsails rod ends are of mid level quality in my estimation and unless you only need a very small quantity (like 2 of them) they wouldn't be at the top of my recommendation list. I build electric vehicles of various shapes and forms (trikes, go-karts, skateboards etc) and use a lot of 3/8" heim joints, typically from QSC. The QSC heims are decent quality and cost about $6 each when ordered in groups of eight. The Smartsail heims are also about $6 each but they are not machined as well and they do not include jamb nuts. So if you need just two, I would say the Smartsail rod ends are the way to go. But if you need a few more heims for you project or just want some back-ups in your shop, I would recommend QSC (or other vendors if you can find them) and get a higher quality rod end, including jamb nuts, for just about the same price.

Exactly what I needed
Used for steering on riding lawnmower. Tightened the free play up considerably. Very happy

Really nice quality and greasable!
I got these as replacements for a steering linkage on my off-road skateboard. These little rod ends are really well made for how cheap they were! They're pre-lubed, but have a tiny needle grease fitting on the side all the same which is probably the best feature. I only ordered one pair but they came in a little plastic snap case in plastic bags which is way nicer than what you usually get at the hardware store for $20/each. I've had tons of different rod ends before right up to Teflon Aurora's in custom tubular LCAs for one of my cars and I'd say these are some of the nicest, short of said Auroras. Hopefully they last, but the ability to grease them and their dirt cheap price means it's all on the user. Even if you fail to maintain you can replace for very little though so I fail to see a downside either way. I will definitely be measuring and ordering more for the rest of the linkages on my board!

Fantastic
Note: These items were received as part of the Amazon Vine program. The rod end caps are solid, threaded, and seem decently well made. the bearings in them turn smoothly and easily. I requested these because I wanted an upgrade for my wife's 3D printed spinning wheel and these have worked perfectly. They do require a decent amount of clearance, but I suspect that for most applications other than making a treadle function they'll be just fine. The set screw hole in the sides are a nice touch on top of the threads if you want to really make sure that what you've got it attached to isn't going anywhere.

Solid Product. Greaseable
The threaded hole seems to be well made and is plenty thick to stand up to 3/8th of an inch sized load. It does have a location that you can use a grease gun. I would strongly suggest using some sort of thread locker or a stop nut to make sure the grease gets pushed into the ball joint. The ball joint is a bit looser than I would like to see on a rod end bearing. The bearing surfaces seem to be well made though.

Good Rod End Bearings
Well made, but probably a bit too small for my application. It should work for a small RC car steering, but my build will need something a bit larger. Will oder a larger size. Other than that these are good Rod ends.

Solid Flexibility
These rod ends will mount solidly and provide some smooth control and flexibility. They will work great for most projects and certainly do for a gokart your kids might want to build.
