I’ve been using the SWIMLINE HYDROTOOLS Manual Vacuum Head for a few weeks now, and I have to say it’s been a game-changer for cleaning my pool. It attaches easily to my vacuum hose and does a great job of picking up all kinds of debris—whether it's small dirt or larger leaves. The brushes on the bottom really help scrub the floor, making it look spotless.It’s lightweight, so I don’t feel like I’m struggling to move it around, and it glides over the pool floor smoothly. Sure, it’s a manual vacuum, so you have to put in a little elbow grease, but it’s super effective and gets the job done quickly.If you want a reliable tool to help keep your pool clean without spending a fortune, this one is definitely worth it!

First I should say I'm 70 and female, I think that's important to know what's behind the pole too. I have a play pool 18 x 35 and about 5' deep, so no deep end to deal with. This only has brushes that go around the outside edge of the unit. It's wieghted so you can even hold it against the side walls and it stays put too and also constructed of durable plastic. I just popped off my pool brush and popped this on, added my pool sweeper hose and turned the skimmer off so all the suction went to this little guy and began just pushing it around the pool and it sucked up everything on the first pass. It did take some muscle for me to get it to move in some places (I think some areas of my cement are a bit rough from deposits) and combined with the fact the suction value was fully open on high might also made it harder too (I'll try turning it down a bit next time), but it sucked up every bit of the dust/dirt from the wind and leaves no problem. I have a Hayward pool sweeper that was not working and I had ordered parts, but I didn't want to wait and let the stuff sit on the bottom of the pool and chance it staining like before (had it acid washed, change filters and start up chemicals for 1500.00). This unit comes from Amazon directly and being a prime member I got it next day delivery! All this for this low price during inflationary times, that's pretty awesome!

Updated: changed to 4 stars from 2 stars. This product performed well and cleaned the pool as described. Still not happy with the lack of instructions as stated below..Haven't even used it yet and only giving 2 stars base on it's not assembled, and doesn't come with instructions. Why can't the lever and spring already be attached? Had to look at other reviewers pictures to figure it out. Here's some pics, hope it helps the next person. If it performs well in the pool, I will increase my star rating, but super frustrating right out of the box.

I was in need for a manuel vacuum head for my swimming pool. I searched for a cheap price at my local pool supply stores. After looking on Amazon u was shocked. I had found the cheapest priced vacuum head j had came across. After purchasing the vacuum head and putting it to use, it performed the job I was looking for. Great deal and good product.

Not much to dislike. This works as it should and moves easily across pool. The spring is fairly intuitive but a pair of needle nosed pliers and flat head screw driver makes the install easier. I would suggest the manufacturer put this picture in with head.

This replaces a unit that appears to be identical, down to the mold marks and stampings on the plastic. The unit I replaced broke at the hinge, brittle from either UV or chemicals. Apparently, we can build kids' pool toys that last forever, but somehow, that technology seems to have evaded the makers of pool tools.The original unit, which held up for about eighteen months, had wheels that were too big. Literally. They interfered with the white plastic "weight" parts of the tool, so they alternated between rolling and skidding. I fixed that by taking my Dremel to the white plastic and carving out a little relief area so that the wheels would actually roll.Try to imagine the level of quality control it takes to bolt wheels on to something and not even check to see if they roll. Brilliant. But, at least they've corrected (sort of) that problem by putting smaller wheels on this newer model.Once I did that bit of minor Dremel surgery, it worked just fine. Except for the apparently useless brushes. They serve, as far as I can tell, absolutely no useful purpose. When you are pushing and pulling the tool, as the orientation of the wheels would suggest, the brushes just leave two thin tracks on either side of the vacuum head. Perhaps that's useful in telling where you've swept, but I can't figure out what these brushes are supposed to do otherwise.The brushes could only be useful using a sideways motion. Except - they're not. Due to the angle of the brushes, trying to sweep from side-to-side causes the leading edge of the brushes to dig in and flip the vacuum head. You can try twisting the tool sideways to utilize the brushes, but then you'll rapidly discover a fundamental truth. There are absolutely no pool brushes being sold that have to be used in a side-to-side motion, flipped on their sides with a floppy hinge.Not one. There's a reason for this - it does not even come close to working.So why they imagined this particular brush configuration might be useful completely escapes me. Oh - and there are two rows of brushes on each side - one pointing down, and the other pointing up. The row pointing up never even remotely comes in contact with the pool surface. If you flip the tool upside down, the hose is in the way.But the brushes do one useful thing. They save wear and tear on the wheels. Because now that they've corrected the earlier too-large-wheel problem by going to smaller wheels, it turns out that the brushes prevent the outboard set of wheels from ever contacting the pool surface. That's right. When they went to smaller-diameter wheels, they left the bristle length of the brushes the same. So now you've got four spare outboard wheels that never touch the pool surface due to the too-long brushes, for use as replacements when the inboard set of wheels wears out.The good news is that within six months, the blue plastic molded around the brush bristles will begin to crack along the row of brushes, and start shedding the bristles. Fortunately, since you'll be vacuuming at the time, it's no problem to suck up this extra bristle debris.I cut the brushes off the new unit. Problem(s) solved.So, given this glowing review, why did I buy another one? Read the review title - PROS: it's cheap.And, believe it or not, other vacuum heads that I've tried in this price range are even worse. So, while I have to take four stars away for engineering, materials and quality control, I'm very, very reluctantly forced to give two stars back for value. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Easy to assemble. Glides easily along pool floor. Picks up leaves and everything on the floor. Very sturdy.
