Incredible amount of information
This book saved me an incredible amount of research about a specific glass factory that my great-grandfather worked at outside of Pittsburgh. It had details that I never would have believed could still be found out about factories that have been out of business for almost 100 years. It also had an excellent history as to why factories opened, merged and closed due to the changing marked forces of that era. It is definitely a research tool as opposed to a book to read from cover to cover.

Wonderful!!
Most of the info seams fairly conclusive and some only partly so but it definitely fills in many blanks from the much older publications. Other books from the 10's-70's (about the last time a real attempt was made) such as by McKearin, Toulouse etc..are very out of date (though still very important). It is well thought out, researched and organized, a must have to add your research cannon.

Lots of good information about glasshouses - many long forgotten and obscure ...
Lots of good information about glasshouses - many long forgotten and obscure - from the 19th and 20th century. If you are serious about the history of early houses, this is a nice work to have on your shelf.

If you are a collector or resercher of early eastern glass, then this small β yet heavy book β is one you must have.
A serious book for a serious collector. The authors have done their research β a ton or research. It covers a major portion of America's glass history.
