Filters very well.
I have this installed on an external diesel tank that I use for my business, and it does a really good job of removing the sediment and condensation from the fuel. I have purchased the replacement filters and have been using it problem free for several months now.

Appears to be as advertised but total crap in use
Installed easily. The die cast top looks well made with clean well cut threads. Plastic bowl and threads perfect and unscrewed easily by hand contrary to many negative comments. Has an o ring seal. The brass screw drain works smoothly again contrary to some reviews. The included wrench seems to be plastic and very flimsy. Doubt it will survive changing a stuck filter. Will rate 4 stars now and update later if it passes leak checks after a reasonable time. LATER: Brass drain valve developed drip leak than increased to a stream after pumping less than 12 gallons. Terrible mess and dangerous. Do not buy this product.

Filtered water, but nothing settled?
I have an external fuel oil tank that is many years old and was giving my furnace some trouble with water and sediment. I McGyvered a pump, pre-filter and used this filter as a second stage to take in the bad and output the good back into the tank. I was fully expecting to see water at the bottom of the plastic cup so I could drain it off. To my surprise, I never saw a collection of water. Maybe the pump was too fast. IDK. However, when I retested the tank the water was mostly gone. So it worked, sort of, because of the filter itself, not from seeing the satisfaction of how much water was in my fuel tank. 4 stars for the fact my filter contraption did what I wanted. 5 stars if I could tell it actually separated the water and how much.

Beautiful 😍
As advertised, just what I needed. I Looked everywhere locally, and live in the country. So meny miles. Every where I went they didn't even know what I was talking about.I had this problem with my Gasoline thank before. The filter container gets stuck, broke it getting it off.Going to try some Parker Lub on the seal. That should help.Product review Awsome, very pleased. It even came with a roll of Teflon tape. That's Class in my Book.

Nice product but petcock broke off.
Petcock handle spun and wouldn't tighten to close drain. Then it fell off. Amazon will replace it if I send back the entire assembly. However, it's all plumbed in and full of fuel oil and I need it NOW not later, as it is still winter. I placed a pipe plug in, but the canister threads are straight so it still leaks. I have a bucket under it now. All I need is a petcock.
