Not recommended for outdoor use for distances greater than 15-20 feet. I attempted to use for outdoor/no WiFi connection surveillance across front yard and small street in front of yard and experienced 30 second+ delay in motion activated recording. Used for approximately 2-3 weeks. Other than this unit functioned fine and quality appears to be high for dvr recorder and artificial stone itself. Appears that full functionality not achieved unless using active WiFi signal, enabling use of downloadable app with various features.
