Lana and the Laird(Untamed Highlanders)Book 3 The Perfect End to this Trilogy! Reviewed by Loraine Oliver
Lana and the Laird is the third and final book in Sabrina York's Untamed Highlander Series, and I loved all of them, they were all so well written, but I think I loved this one just a tiny bit more because I got to see Sabrina York work her magic in turning a sad, 'haunted' young Englishman into a strong and brave Highlander!Lachlan Sinclair is a very sad and lonely man and he lives with the knowledge that he thinks he is going to die at the age of 30, just like several of his ancestors before him have and he is next in line! What he does not realize in his case is that it is due to the scheming uncle and cousin of his that the idea he is cursed has gone on for as long as it has, and he has spent his life in England, being raised English until he is forced to go to Scotland and take care of things like his crumbling castle for one.On this visit he has met Lana and her father, and Lana's sister Hannah, who is now married to Dunnet, who we read about in book one. Anyway when he sees Lana for the first time he is enamored of her, and she of him as well. We also find out what is going on with her sister Susannah, who is also getting ready to be married to Dunnet's brother, Andrew. It is awesome to read all the good dialog in this book between all of the characters, from the other two books to the new characters in this last book!Once Dunnet and his brother show Lachlan just what it means to clear the land, an order he gave, just so he can refurbish his castle, he is horrified at what he sees! What he does not realize is when he issued all clearing to stop just what that meant to the people who lived on the land and the despicable men who ran the castles that could care less about their people and gladly ran all of them off, and burned out the ones that would not leave. When Lachlan's cousin finds out he is no longer going to clear the land he also steps up his "game " to be rid of Lachlan! A game that involves ghosts and chains, and hauntings. However when he tells Lana she disagrees with him, after all she is the "touched one', as everyone whispers about her because she sees and speaks to ghosts. Including Lachlan's mother!Read this book and see what happens to all of the men and women of this part of the Highlands, the poor and the greedy, and see what Lachlan's decision causes to happen to Lachlan himself, and the woman he has come to love! This book had a great plot that kept the book going at a fast pace, the characters are all really well developed and I loved reading the interaction between the sisters and their braw men, including some really good and hot- sensual situations, loved the fact that the 3 sister's father was so thrilled to have all his daughter's finally settled down, so he can spend the rest of his days enjoying his fine liquor, and the great interaction between the two brothers and Lachlan and how even though he is a Duke, they take him under their wing and have him in a proper kilt in no time with a Scottish accent-after all he is Scottish, he was born in Scotland but taken to live with his uncle when he was a young lad, and given a proper English education.I gave this book 5*****awesome stars and just am sad to see this series come to an end! I look forward to more by Sabrina York soon!

Third Time's a Charm
Sabrina York has outdone herself in this third book in the Untamed Highlander series. While this book can be read as a stand-alone story is does provide an interesting view into the previous two stories. In this third book, Lachlan Sinclair, the Duke of Caithness is cursed – all the dukes have dies before their 30th birthday and his is coming up in a few months. He is being haunted by the ghost of his father who is telling him that he must have the lands cleared so he can rebuilt his castle. His only problem is that Alexander Dunnet is refusing to clear his land. The duke plans to do something about that by traveling to visit Alexander and give him an ultimatum. When he gets there rather than be cowed by the Duke, Dunnet and his wife Hannah stand up to him and refuse to clear their land. They are supported in this by Hannah’s sister Lana. One look at Lana and the duke sees that she is the woman of his dreams (literally). He has been dreaming of an angel and here she is.Lana brings out the Scottish in him because he has also been in her dreams, but as a kilted Scottish warrior. She encourages him to find his Scottish roots. The more he comes to see the family as friends, the more discouraging his servant/cousin Dougal becomes. Dougal wants him to clear the lands and return to repair his castle. Lachlan doesn’t understand why his cousin is so insistent but it isn’t good. This series focuses on three Dounreay sisters. Lana has always been the one who thought she would never marry because she sees ghosts (not something men want in a wife). On the other hand, Lachlan has never planned to marry because he knows he is cursed. How could these two not fall in love?I think this is the best of the three books and found it a quick, enjoyable read. You can see what’s coming but aren’t sure how it’s going to get there. Ms York writes interesting, and believable characters that are a joy to read.

What an incredible story. I couldn't put it down.
Absolutely loved Lana and the Laird by Sabrina York. This is the story about a young woman who has the gift of seeing and talking to spirits and her name is Lana. While staying with her sister Hannah and her husband Alexander, Lana has been having dreams of this great Scottish warrior that she knows she will meet in the future.Lachlan is the Duke of Caithness, and is just coming back to his lands after living in London for many years. He has given all of barons the rules that there must be a great clearing of the land so that the people will move on and sheep are to be put on the land to feed on so they can make money to finish renovating his family castle. But Lauchlan is also a haunted man and his future is to be short as he is cursed as well. He has also been having dreams of an angel who is going to save him. It's incredible when they meet for they recognize each other from their dreams. Yet Lauchlan is not dressed as the warrior in her dreams but as a Duke in stuffy clothes.I was addicted from page one. What great comings and goings that are in this book. I love how Lana visits with Lauchlan's dead mother.Love how the whole family gets together in this book and things are finished from the previous two books. I forgot how much I loved Isobel's character but she's back and raring to go. Love Lana and Lauchlan's story. Wanted to keep reading more. I feel vested to this family.Thank you Sabrina for this incredible read.

Another rollicking good read

Too much repetition from the previous novels
What I dont like in this novel is that 30 - 40 % of this book is from the previous novels of this series "Hannah and the Highlander" and "Susana and the Scot" - most of it word for word. Other authors write in series form and have no problem creating an original text for their stories

Imps
Sabrina York certainly tells a great story. Her characters are real and well defined. Her addition of mischievious and lovable children is a delightful surprise. The two previous books in this series are terrific as well.
