A TDS meter (aka ppm pen, nutrient tester, tds stick) is an inexpensive and convenient digital tool to instantly check your overall water quality. TDS = Total Dissolved Solids, which is any salt, metal or mineral in the water. With the push of a button, the TDS can tell you your overall water purity level, which will be displayed on the screen in ppm (parts per million). The lower the TDS level, the purer the water, with 0 ppm being pure H2O. The TDS is great for checking your tap water quality, or knowing when to change a filter. (The meter does not test for biological contaminants.) Simple to use
Simple to use. one button on/off. On, put in water and leave it in the water while you read the tester. The tester does Not hold the number when you take it out of the water. It drops back to zero. And no back light so need enough light to try and read the tester (in the water). But its a great price and includes the batteries. If your not happy with the fact that it has no back light or doesn't hold your water test number. Then you need to go spend more money for the bells and whistles. I have what I need. Gives me a tester with batteries, that provides a good TDS reading and at a reasonable price. My new favorite toy to play with in the water.

Instructions in Chinese but it's not like you need them.
Yeah the instructions are in Chinese but it's pretty straightforward - you press the button and stick the end in water.

Better than expected
Like everyone else instructions came in Chinese but was easy to use. Just stick the device in water and it will quickly read out the water level. It would be nice to have a water chart to compare contamination levels but you can google it for reference. The design is simple and sleek better then some I’ve seen insofar.

Great, but no batteries included
The meter works great! It's small and reads very quickly. The only downside I had was that the batteries were not included, which if I had read everything, I would have seen. Otherwise it's perfect!

Product works as expected. Used to determine water hardness before and after install of reverse osmosis system. Reads 3ppm and I get no water spots on my cars

Great product.
Aesthetically it's the best product on the market. Great quality. The meter comes without the batteries which you would have to buy separately (2 LR44 batteries).
