The clamp does not work well at all. It kept falling into/off my pot.

This is a nicely made thermometer with a long probe. Unfortunately, I bought it when it was more expensive at $10.79, but it's another 11% off or so today at $9.59 for one or $13.59 for two.It's so well made that I should have gotten the two pack.The red dial is nice if it's a feature you want. There are other deep fry thermometers that area slightly cheaper, especially comparing the full price, but it looks like this one has the most reviews.

Safe
I have always wanted one of these. Now when I make my donuts and other deep fry food I wouldn't have to guess. Easy to use and safe.

I actually use this for candle making. I use it to get the temperature on my wax. It has held up very well
