Coolest memoir on earth
One of the best memoirs Iโve ever read!!! Not because of the writing but because of its art and materiality!!!! 100 demons is an amazing concept and I think this is a great coffee table book because anyone would be happy to pick it up and flip through its colorful pages. Truly a work of art!!

This book lead me off into the most amazing journeys!
There are different ways to look at Lynda Barryโs One Hundred Demons. You can look at it at face value and see a quirky, interesting โcartoonโ book that will make you laugh. Or you can actually read it. Because I read it, I learned that One Hundred Demons outlines the core of several courses she has taught at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Lynda Barry is committed to helping people reap the benefits of using the right side of their brain, and references the book โThe Master and His Emissaryโ by Iain McGilchrist which deals with the hemispheric functioning of the brain (thereโs also an interesting documentary available online by the same name). She has designed a number of wonderful exercises for her students in the math, art, and science departments to use in order to tap into the creative, intuitive delights of the right brain. As a professional artist, I very much enjoyed the book and the exercises!

Something different and fun
This was assigned for class and was quite an enjoyable read. Her artwork is different and colorful. Her stories are short and engaging, easily connected with. Good for preteens and older.

Everyone has their demons!
Unless you were that thin blonde with long glossy hair, perfect body, beautiful, self confident and popular you will relate to at least one demon in this book. I actually am only half way though it and can identify with so much of what Lynda Barry writes about. The cartoons, the bright colors and the size and feel of the book just draws you into each page.Remembering the shock of how it felt when you found out that how you saw yourself was not how others see you. The pain you felt not having friends and being made fun of by everyone. The confusion of becoming a teen and not knowing who you are or why you are so different and discovering that you just don't fit in. The moment when that feeling of regret over your past over powers you with guilt over how you treated a friend. I love this book. To me it is like cleaning out your closet and finding all those memories that you packed away in boxes that you forgot you had.It is not depressing it is exciting to see how all those demons made you who you are today and how the times that you thought your life was over were just part of growing up. One Hundred Demons made me feel that I wasn't so different, I wasn't the only one who looked strange dancing.

Beautiful Memoir
I enjoyed this graphic novel immensely. I connect to her struggles and how growing up isnโt something that stops at adulthood. I felt like I wasnโt alone when reading thisโI need more books like this.

Wonderful Book
I had to get this book for a collage English class and at first glance, I really thought it was a kids book with just looking at the design of the cover. I was really surprised to see it wasn't a kids book and instead was about the actual author and her teen years. Talk about a surprise but I really enjoyed it.

Soothing and amusing
A funny and inspiring book. I recognised many of the concerns of the author. Itโs good to know that others suffer similar angsts. Might be a good book for a teenager who is struggling to find their way โ not because it has answers but because it shows we all have had some issues.

Badly Formatted for Kindle.
Although the pages are drawn in landscape this ebook is formatted for the Kindle such that it will not auto-rotate as others do. This means that a reduced image of a page oriented in landscape is portrayed in portrait mode on the Kindle Fire screen. The result is a clunky, badly-formatted reading experience that is much more hard work than it needs to b,e as if it were able to rotate to landscape with the Kindle device as others ebooks do it would fit beautifully. I can't help but feel that this could have been avoided...come on, Amazon! You've missed a trick there, son.

Really enjoyed this!
I bought this book because i read it was more of a auto-biography/memoir opposed to fiction - it really is fantastic and Barry creates beautiful funny/tragic narratives from her childhood and adult life - i read it in a week (but someone could read it in a day if they wanted) thoroughly enjoyed it - would recommend to anyone interested in auto-biographyand art
