No padding in the cover
The board is exactly what I envisioned except there was no padding in the cover

Versatile and efficient
I've owned a sleeve board just like this for 35 years, sewn for almost 45 years. I bought it, because I had moved out of my parents' house and could no longer use my mother's pressing tools. She was also a lifelong seamstress who sewed most of her own clothes and(!) had a board like this! While it is advisable for sewers to have an array of pressing aids--ham, seam stick with wool cover, sleeve roll, clapper, etc.--you can get by without some of those for a long, long time by having this particular hinged sleeve board. For folks who like their shirts to have a hand-pressed, not machine-pressed, finish this is all you need to avoid putting creases in sleeves, or anywhere else they shouldn't be. (Creases=wear and tear.) Use the narrow ends for pressing ruffles, smaller baby and children's garments, and 'dress' it with shirts or blouses laid across the narrow end of your ironing board (moving the wider end of the sleeve board from one shoulder to the other, in turn) to press back yokes and shoulder seams. I gave one star for 'light weight', because it's irrelevant. It'd be vastly improved by being made of solid wood boards hinged together as this one is. The hinge is falling out of my old 'board, because the particle board is starting to flake from being exposed to moisture. My original was sold by June Tailor notions, and had a much sturdier hinge; it snapped to when it was set up, and I had to use some force to fold the prop back down flat. The padding and covers are completely inadequate. If you really sew, you'll want to replace them with sturdier materials before use. I'd definitely choose a padding fabric that resists moisture and heat to extend the life of the board. And make sure when you cut the padding you add enough at the edges to pad your edges. Okey-dokey? Have fun! It's a great design. Oh! Make a muslin drawstring bag to store it, too, and be sure it'll hang from a hook when you've put it away.

Great tool for all your small pressing needs
The board is light weight but very sturdy. It locks and unlocks easily and has a high quality cover. A great board for sleeves and other small pieces. I now have no excuse for not pressing seams when sewing as it takes up so little space unlike my standard ironing board. It would be a good asset for quilters and anyone who makes small sized sewing projects.

Very useful item
I sew for the all-volunteer Angel Gown organization which makes tiny burial gowns (to be donated to hospitals which are donated to families whose baby do not survive) from donated wedding gowns. The garments are very tiny and difficult to adequately press. This sleeve board is a necessity for this work. It is sturdy, sized well and easily stored when not in use. I am grateful for this product.

Flimsy.
I echo others' reviews that this item is flimsy. It will hardly stand upright during use. The padding is insufficient and the covering smells like it's burning and melting when touched by a hot iron. The only thing going for it is its small size and narrow arms, perfect for doll clothes. Definitely would NOT buy again or recommend to others. Moreover, unlike other Amazon Prime returns where you drop off the unpackaged item at UPS and they box it up for you, this item you have to pack up and label yourself to return: so BE SURE TO SAVE THE BOX, as you will likely want to return it! Edited to add: I ordered another sleeve ironing board, and I highly recommend it instead of this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083VVNV9Q?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Sleeve Ironing Board
Just what I wanted, I was hoping that it would have more padding, however, I can add that myself. Thank you, it's perfect!!

Pièces usagées?
Les pièces en métal sont sales et ne se nettoies pas. Les tâches donnent l'impression qu'elles sont usagées.
