It is more comfortable to hold
Day one; seems okay. It is more comfortable to hold, can tell it will be nice for long playtime. There are way more reviews on other similar products about how much better this is over the small rectangle, especially in adult hands, I won't go into detail about that. But specifically the build quality of this seems okay, but not sure how it would hold up for a child. The little pieces that hold the 2ds in are very small and I don't foresee them lasting long, but I don't need to remove the game daily so won't be popping it in and out a lot, but kids would. I will update this review if the thing breaks, with further thoughts. As of now, this product seems decent and on par to other offerings. Holds the ds snug and feels secure. The thing itself is hallow cheap plastic feel but so does the 2ds xl so not knocking for that. The images all looks exact the same so I dunno what is different other than the brand/packaging and price. This one did come in a retail box you might find at a cheapo discount store.

Not bad for under $10
This works pretty well for the price. I've been using it for about a week now and I find it works better for adult size hands vs kids. It fits the new 2ds rather well and can take a bit of fource to remove it from the 2ds. It does effect the sound a bit but not that much and you do have to remove it to change games though you are able to charge it and have access to the power, volume, back cameras, R/L, ZR/ZL buttons and headphone/stylus area while it's on. As it's a hard plastic there is a chance of it braking if dropped hard enough. It also scratches/scuffs easy. I'm not sure how long it will last as it's 2 hard plastic pieces screwed together in 8 places more then likely leaving some hollow areas in it's design. Though at $8.99 I would probably buy it again as long as it doesn't break quickly or causes damage to my 2ds.

Almost perfect
This feels great when playing and is easy to attach. However if you put a game in, make sure you are going to play it for a while since it does not have a slot to be able to change games. You will have to risk breaking the product constantly removing if you switch games often.

Nice little add on
Daughter loves it. Cant use a case in it though and seems to slip a tad easy, but that could be due to constant use by a 9 year old

This grip is awesome, it truly makes using the 2DS XL so much more enjoyable and comfortable. The 2DS XL is very slim, small light weight and a little awkward to hold, this grip completely changes that and the overall gaming experience altogether. Plus the kickstand is a huge bonus! The only downfall is you have to take on and off to put in/take out the games. I wish there was an opening on the grip for installing/removing games.
