For the little jobs
Even with a drawer full of Weller soldering guns I found the need for a small iron and I was ready to buy another Weller. This time it was a Weller WLC100 40-Watt Soldering Station, for about forty bucks. Then I said what the heck & searched Amazon, this one caught my attention. Upon reading the reviews (carefully looking for the now, many bogus reviews) I decided to give it a try, what the heck, it's only $19 something.I am sure glad I did, this little kit is well put together and worth the price. The first thing I did was to change out the tip with one of the five included tips, to one suitable for 12 gauge wire. After plugging the iron in then checking the on/off switch and rotating the rotary switch to about the mid point I only needed to wait about a minute for it to be warm enough to tin the tip.I am still impressed with the speed at which it warms up to usable temperature - usually less than a minute and that is with a large tip.I'll be replacing some capacitors on an engine computer which was why this kit was appealing with the variable temp iron, solder sucker & wick. Not to mention the close cutting pliers & even a stand & solder. You really cannot go wrong with this setup, it would be hard to beat the quality for the low cost of this unit.It all tucks away in it's own storage box.I didn't realize just how nice the power switch on the iron would be but it's nice to be able to tell at a glance that you did remember to turn it off.If I had gone with the other iron I would have ended up buying another $30 worth of tips, the $70 plus price tag wouldn't have done any better as far as I am concerned since it won't be used on a daily basis. For the little jobs, it sure is handy.Don

Much better than cheap ones!!!!
After several electrical projects, this iron kit has not failed me. It comes with a variety of different tools and options: a soldering iron, 5 soldering tips, solder wire, soldering sucker (desoldering pump), solder wick, iron stand with cleaning sponge, 2 anti-static tweezers, diagonal cutting pliers. Now I have all the tools I need to get the job done. In the past, I bought cheap ones at brick and mortar stores and they could not last long enough. However, this product has withstood all abuses I put on it for the last month on my project of redo the wires in my Camry and RV. Overall, I am very pleased with it.Please press the Helpful button under this review so I know someone reads it.When I shop on Amazon I rely heavily on other people’s honest reviews to help me make the right choice on what to buy and what not to buy. So, in turn, I always make sure to leave my HONEST opinions on products that I review. It is my motto that I try to give as much detail as I can right after I experience the product. If you have any questions for me on something I failed to mention, please ask and I will respond quickly. Please be assured the product has earned the rating I have given.Have a nice day!

Great starter kit! Especially love the portability.
Great kit for beginners like me. Bought this to use for my digital electronics class, and it gets the job done pretty well. I love the small toolbox they give you to store it in. It can fit in my backpack, and I even take it to class sometimes if I'm behind on a project. My only complaints are sometimes I feel like the tip isn't being heated uniformly, as sometimes the solder melts perfectly, and others it takes a few seconds (at the same temp). However, it's not really a big deal considering how cheap the set is. Other than that, this kit has pretty much everything you could need to get started soldering. I will say though, it is probably worthwhile to buy a brass sponge to use. At least I personally wish that I had because the sponge gets dirty really fast due to its small size, and it sometimes takes some extra effort to wipe off the excess solder after tinning the tip. If you're taking some electronics classes like me, or you just want to start some hobbyist projects and you're on a budget, this kit is a wonderful purchase.

Incredible Soldering Kit!
So far this has been an excellent product for me. I'm a college student in computer science, a gamer, and overall tech enthusiast, so I know it's the little products like these that can make all the difference. This is a quality budget soldering kit with everything you need and more to get started. The equipment is of a surprisingly high quality in this set. They even provided plenty of solder to get started. The tool box on the other hand could definitely be better but at this price point its definitely a welcome addition to the set. The only issue I have had is a minor mostly cosmetic defect on the tool box. The incredible costumer support has already offered to replace it if I wanted.I would highly recommend this soldering kit to anyone who has an interest or need for these kinds of tools. I have already used these tools in several projects with some even unrelated to soldering. I hope this review can be helpful to you.

Decent deal / Toolbox too small & mine was broken.
For the most part, this is a good kit/good value. My main issues are the toolbox and stand. The stand is cheaply made and the sponge is the wrong size. It does the job well enough. The toolbox was the worst part. It was broken and it will not hold the assembled stand. Other than these items, the rest of the kit , including the iron, is def good enough.

Soldering Practice Time
I love my little baby size Soldering kit! I have never soldered anything in my life but i thought I needed to purchase my own set to keep me from throwing anything that is broken in the garbage all the time. I watched a few videos and began soldering not long after it arrived to my home. I'm horrible at it, so I'm glad that I didn't pay a lot for it while im learning techniques and practicing on it. I bought some rosin flux for the kit to see if that would help me more, and it did. Still not good with it at all, but i have soldered a pair of earring, a car charger part, and a Brad that came a loose from a fan, yipee kayee!
