Honest 30 day guarantee
I am giving this a 4 star review based solely on the company's 30 day return policy guarantee. I bought this for my mother in law but she didn't have the dexterity to comfortably use it.

A useful hearing aid to have.
Small and effective, wearing not easily noticed. Comfortable and nice to have. Slightly expensive.

Excellent for conversation in noisy surroundings
In February 2015 I bought my first Tweak along with one Life Ear aid, one for each ear to try them. My $3000 Bernifon hearing aids I had bought at Costco a few years prior had just stopped working. They couldn’t be repaired. An Amazon search took me to Tweak and Life Ear. I bought one of each for about $300 each. They served me as well as the Bernifons had. In September 2018 my Tweak stopped. As I looked for a replacement United Health Care offered me “very expensive” hearing aids through HiHealth Innovations for a copay of $300 each. A very nice audiologist fitted me with a pair on a 70-day trial. Midway through the trial for comparison with the HiHealth I bought a new Tweak on trial to go with my still working LifeEar in the other ear. I asked three different audiologists to test me with my hearing aids on. All declined saying the results wouldn’t be meaningful. So I ran my own tests to judge subjectively how the aids helped me hear in different situations:– in a semi monthly meeting of 6-14 men and women: I couldn’t tell any difference in performance between Tweak, Life Ear or Hi Health. I could hear most of what people said using the aids. Proper setting of the volume controls was important to the results.– in a noisy restaurant: Tweaks have two microphones each, one for noise in back and around, the other for sound in front of you. You can turn off the back one to focus on the conversation in front of you. This makes a dramatic improvement in a noisy restaurant.– at home listening to “Easy Listening” music on Xfinity TV (a lot of Montavani and strings.) Couldn’t tell any difference between Tweak, Life Ear or Hi Health. The key was to adjust the volume on the aids and the TV to eliminate the screechiness of the strings. The three I tested are all good devices at about the same price. I chose the Tweaks because:– the noise reduction works so well, with the ability to turn off the back-facing mikes.– uses 312 batteries which are larger and last longer than the size 10 batteries on the Life Ear– calls to customer service are answered immediately by a very helpful real person.– excellent, easy to use volume control allows fine tuning to the environment you’re in. It works like this:1. at initial setup you choose one of three amplification settings in a broad range from low to very high.2. from then on, each time you turn on your aids they start with the amplification you chose at step 1.3. from there you can lower the amplification click by click over six levels quieter; or louder over six levels, a total of twelve amp settings.4. you can redo step 1 any time to change the amplification your Tweaks start at when turned on– the Tweaks are less expensive than the HiHeallth or LifeEar– Of the three devices only the HiHealth have FDA approval and are allowed to be called “hearing aids”. By government mandate the Tweak and LifeEar must be called “personal sound amplification devices” (PSAD’s) or some such, but not “hearing aids”. FDA approval costs many thousands of dollars, adding greatly to the price of “hearing aids”. That cost doesn’t come from improved technology. It comes from government’s intent to protect me from devices that might damage my hearing or that would just amplify sound without regard to which frequencies my ears needed help with. I’ll trust myself to choose aids that work best for my ears without damaging them further. The choice is subjective. The industry offers no help in helping you choose. It’s all up to you to decide which device you hear best with. You’ll have to experiment with volume settings and also with different kinds of domes for the ends of the tubes that go in your ears. It’s not easy for some older people to do.Best to you in your search for better hearing!
