This is a great starter kit for anyone wanting to make candles. It has everything needed to get you started, My husband had mentioned maybe starting to make or own since everything is getting more expensive, so I bought this for us to start with. Definably stay with any older children or young teens to supervise as hot wax will burn fast. A steady hand is needed for pouring and melted wax is a little heavier than when it's solid. One thing we have started doing is saving old candle jars for reuse as we have been doing more. It's definitely good DIY project. But I would definitely put down wax paper or foil or something where you are pouring into containers in case of spills. That way you can peel the wax off to remelt and not have to scrape it off the countertop and scratch the surface up. Overall, we got a good buy as I had been watching for it to be on sale and when the price dropped, I jumped on it. Since there is no color additive, that's not an issue, but you can buy dye to use. Everything is included so it's a great buy for getting started.

If you follow the instructions for the hot plate it tells you there will be some burn off, and to use in a well ventilated space. Follow those instructions! It stinks at first and there will be a little bit of smoke but once you let it burn for 20 minutes you'll be fine. Me and my best friend bought candle kits just for something fun to do one day. This kit comes with everything you will need to get started. It's a pretty cool set. The only thing I do not like about it how much scent you have to use. The directions say to use the WHOLE bottle for one bag of wax. And you really need to if you want to be able to smell it. I used one of the floral scents first and I honestly can still barely smell it. Maybe buy some better fragrances for your kit. But, I am now hooked and want to make more!

I bought this as a gift for my mother this past christmas and I ended up giving it to her a few days before because we were both sitting at the table bored. When she opened it, her face lit up, as she has been wanting to start making candles but hasn't had the means to. She opened the box and started looking at everything and getting it set up as she read the instructions and asked me if I wanted to give it a go. We spent a few hours making candles, listening to music and enjoying quality time. There is a lot that comes in this kit so you will have enough to do to keep you busy for at least a couple hours. There were fresh rose buds and lavender, as well as a handful of others that you can decorate your candles with. There were 6 fragrance oils that you can use to make scented candles. There was a decent amount of wax beads to start which filled all the candle tins and we still had some left over. There was a total of 10 tins I think. And it also came with labels and warning labels. Overall a great gift, a great hobby, and very therapeutic. I highly recommend whether it be for you or a loved one/friend. Definitely a great purchase and you won't regret it.

This is ok for older kids. The burner puts off a very bad smell, burn outside. The wax does get very hot. It is hard to clean up. Makes a cute candle, but I would recommend buy your own wax with smells that you enjoy. I would not let younger kids use this.

This was such a craft for the kids and I to do together. The creativity with mixing scents was so much fun. Kit included everything we needed although we did purchase more decorative tins. 10/10 would recommend. This was our first time ever making candles and we can't seem to get enough of it! Hours of fun!

The box includes everything necessary and with quality to make candles and startyour business. The perfume oils smells good and 5 packs of beeswax is more then sufficient to make beautiful candles. What I liked the most is the clear instructions and everything is user friendly. The stove is smaller then expected and too much fumes (toxic smell) comes out of the stove when burning the wax therefore I recommend not to use it in a small room without a window. Overall it's a great package.
