Takes Me Back to Grandma's House
This guy's smaller than the one grannie had or the one I bought back in the 90s, but it's all I could find without lots of searching. Plus, this little feller cost $50! He does look kinda small on the wall we put him on.This is not a clock that I expect to keep perfect time. That's what phone, computer and atomic clocks are for. Be forewarned though that it makes a ticktocking noise, which ain't so good for those sleepless nights. But we have him in the kitchen where it's charming and not annoying.I also recall that the plastic is a bit brittle and may break if it falls off the wall. I think the eye mechanism broke on the one I used to have. I still used it, but one more fall was it's last life.

I can’t even ...
To try telling how adorable this clock is, especially in the mini size, and how much he makes all of us at work smile (he is on the wall in our office) would be a lengthy story. But this was a birthday gift I gave my co worker, and we all love it so much!I was worried due to other reviews, that it might not work properly, as it’s stated several times to be made of very cheap plastic - which it is - however,I was careful handling it when placing the batteries inside, and putting it on the wall. Once up in place,“Felix” happily started swishing his tail and moving his big eyes back & forth, and works like a charm. He’s kept perfect time so far, and I am sooo gladI took the chance on this fun, unique little clock!!!

Complete POS. Our grand daughter loves it. We have to have it. No choice.
This item is poorly made because the tail didn't wag, no matter what we tried. We followed the instructions, changed the battery, mounted it on the wall, but the tail barely wagged. We called the company's phone, and they won't answer the phone any more. They said on the voice mail to watch the videos instead. They advised to leave a message and our email address and they'll get back to us. That was Friday afternoon at about 3 PM here on the west coast. No response. They are just up the freeway from us about 20 minutes away in Fullerton, California, Orange County. We could have driven up there in person within a half hour and it would have taken less time than i spent fooling around with instructions, batteries and videos. We ordered a replacement item and are returning the original purchase. Perhaps we will receive an operational replacement, but it gets me wondering if the motion aspect will work, and for how long? It's a disappointment generally, but even more so, as it is made here in the U.S.A. Shameful that the company spends so much effort with fixit videos instead of improving the manufacturing process to produce a better quality product in the first place. Now, they've shut off their phones. That's not a solution. Someone there is asleep at the switch if they can't figure out after all these years how to improve the product quality instead of offering 50 different colors. We have no choice. Our 5 year-old granddaughter saw it, and had to have it. So we've got no choice. Even if we have to buy 5 of them to get one to work property, if that's what we have to do.One star is our rating on this item for all the reasons mentioned above.Maybe by some weird miracle we're wrong about this. If so, i'll retract my scathing review. Let's see...UPDATE:Well, the replacement arrived today, the next day after re-ordering. Fast turnaround. The tail works on this one, but the minute hand falls off at the slightest touch. No good. I looked up the FAQs on the website and followed instructions on hands falling off, and that didn't work either. It keeps falling off and won't stay attached to the stem.Returning the replacement, too. Amazon won't replace the replacement. So, we're going to purchase one from a clock shop where we can check out the operability first hand without shipping delays or returns. Poor quality and careless quality control is my conclusion. I wonder how long a good one will last... We'll see i guess over time, if we find one that works.UPDATE:We ended up purchasing the large, original, clock from a local small business clock shop. It worked perfectly. Our granddaughter is thrilled. We're relieved.

The Kat is back!
I had a Kit-Kat clock for over 20 years. I think the models are tweaked over time as it was the full size clock but ran on a single AA battery, not two C-cells as now described for that size. The back plate was stamped 'model B1'. It required occasional minor adjustments + cleaning to keep it running. The company was exceptional with advice and parts. It would still be on my wall if only I had not forgotten the rules and set the time with the hour hand, damaging the works just as the instructions cautioned. Can only blame myself for the Kit Kat Karma that ensued. I thought to replace it with the 3/4 size clock as I didn't relish using heavy C-cells. But perhaps someone misread my order or they were out-of-stock because I received the large model instead (stamped 'model B2' and labeled Kit-Cat, not Kitty-Cat). I assembled it with C-cells and followed instructions to the letter. The heavier batteries seem to provide "ballast" so that turned out to be a plus. I hung it on the wall in its predecessor's place and it commenced eye-rolling and tail swishing immediately! After reading some of the negative comments (thin plastic~looks cheap~flimsy, etc), I feel compelled to add a few words in defense of this charming clock. While not suitable for everyone, it is an accurate replica of those made in the 1930's. They were marketed during the Depression for a public who could ill afford luxuries and were not intended to be high-end in our current sense of the word. They were meant to be practical and bring smiles to the public psyche which was suffering a most dreadful time in history. Yes they are somewhat fragile and require a bit of TLC. I don't find the plastic to be particularly thin and I'm not sure why people think it needs to be heavy or more durable to perform its function (which is to hang on the wall, keep time, and contribute mood enhancement). I appreciate iconic items from past eras and when it comes to reproductions, I'd rather they be as close to the original as possible (at least for the parts I can see) so perhaps I am more willing to accept what others might not. I love this clock and cannot imagine my kitchen without it.
