I personally use it as a comforter alone with no duvet covering it. I always wash bedding before using it and want you to know this only gets better and better and more and more soft and comfy with every wash. It can be washed and dried right in your home washer & dryer and it has held up well in mine this far (and mine is a king size). I’ve washed it probably 4 times in a month and a half and the only change is it’s better everytime I complete the wash and dry! It’s very soft and cozy, not to hot or too cold. It allows for a slight amount of air to come through it keeping you from getting too hot like some others I’ve had. If you like comforters that have the crisp, crackle sounds and are looking for one like that, then this is NOT the one you want.I always get mine a size up from my actual bed size so my bed is a queen therefore I purchased a King size which fits great. It’s not too heavy where it hangs over the sides and even though my bed is lower to the ground, it doesn’t touch the ground.
