Produces the "Sound in my head"
I have always been more of a guitar player than gear nerd so I don't know all the ins and outs of creating the sound I hear in my head. I know I want high gain (or so I thought) with clarity. I know I didn't want flabbiness during palm mutes. It wasn't until I started seeing the reviews on these that I realized that what I was looking for was tightness. Anytime I turned up gain, I lost clarity and palm mutes got sloppier. This pedal tighten it right up. The flub during mutes was tightened right up without losing the clarity. What I found was that I wasn't really after very high gain. Turns out I can dial back gain on amp and use this to improve my tone. So I still have the powerful open chords but the palm mutes are reeled in and punchy. Because I've dialed back the gain, I've brought back a lot of the clarity. Although very high gain is still relatively clear. I'm also using less volume and still punching through the mix since I started using this. It does what an OD pedal does- boost. But the boost can go further than standard boost pedals. then the Attack knob is there to tighten sound. You also get a brightness knob. Oh and a very good built in noise gate. Its like a few pedals in one. Truly versatile. Its pricey but paid for itself in the result I achieved. I have used it with an EVH 5150 50w and a Quilter OD 200 amp. Will try on my JCM 2000. So far it has been doing great on anything I plug it into. Even sounds killer through a Yamaha THRX 10 practice amp.I have played live with it once. It doesn't feel as tough as a Boss pedal mainly due to how light it is. However, it does have a metal casing. The only complaint I have with it is that you have to unscrew the bottom of the case (4 screws) to get to the battery. I am hoping it is efficient enough to not have to unscrew it often. In any case it can run off a 9v power source that IMO is in an inconvenient spot. Its directly next to the input which shouldn't be an issue but my Boss wireless is hooked into it and bends the input a little because of the receivers size. So its either use battery power or bend 9v input. Otherwise, soooo glad I bought it.

Solid multifeature pedal that will become a staple
I mainly do rhythm guitar. Les paul and strat. Eb or Db standard tuning usually.Nice pedal. To get this sound I would need a noise gate, a tube screamer, and another pedal to shape the sound (unless noise gate does that). Presence knob lets me dial it in as well. Nice combination!Nice to have this pedal all in one slot on my board, saves me space, and a single button to turn it all on or off at once makes this very usable! The attack knob let’s me make my palm mutes punchy or fat, that’s a useful feature creating more space for my band to punch through the spaces between my notes, or for me to dominate more. I can dial it in. Noise gate keeps me quiet when in really noisy high gain settings. Presence just brings the clarity if you want it. Distortion fades in a tube screamer style effect. It’s a package of sounds super useful to palm mute styles. Saving me multiple pedals, all on a single switch. I could see having a couple of these guys on my board for different kinds of songs we do.Solid mxr construction. The power input jack is maybe a little inconveniently placed, can interfere with the side input, would be better on the back side of the box instead

Multiple Features for Almost Any Rig
Watched dozens of reviews before picking this pedal up. The demos were very convincing and the design is definitely worthy of considering this a next-gen pedal that offers multiple features not really available elsewhere on the market. I play hard rock and metal, mostly in standard, Drop D, and sometimes 1/2 step, to 1 step down tuned. I'm playing a PRS Custom 24 into a Mesa Tremoverb. This pedal is absolutely incredible and allows me the ability to dial in the exact tones I need to craft and record killer licks. From chuggington station to screaming solos, this pedals has the ability to shape multiple sounds with my rig and deliver that perfect face melting sonic signature. The noise gate that is designed to activate after the gain is very well built. I love the way it sounds when cranked all the way up. It is a continuous dial, so it allows for the gate to be turned down to get a more 'natural' gate sound if that's what you're after. All in all, I absolutely love the fact that I'm not searching for the perfect boost pedal, OD, and noise gate to get the sound I want since I bought a new guitar and amp. It's all right here in the pedal. Same would be true if I were to go pick up the Diezel Hagen that I'm after. I'm confident the Precision Drive would be perfectly able to handle whatever I put it up against when it comes to playing heavier styles with various amounts of gain. Brilliant design, brilliant execution! 5 stars for this pedal! Thanks Horizon! Hope to see some new products in the works soon with the same level of attention to detail and delivery!!
