Great bowl to slow your pet down from shoving food down its throat
I've owned this bowl and bowls like this for years. My dogs have mastered them, but after all these years the bowl still slows them down. It is a big difference than using a regular bowl. I give my dogs dry food and first warm up (microwave) their water and add to the food in the bowl, then I let it cool down before serving. (This works for me because I have competitive dogs who may drink other's water, more than they should and causes them accidents.) The food is soft and easier to eat, and it slows them down even more. One of my dogs was getting sick and his stomach was inflamed. After the vet had him on a steroid for years, I found this bowl in my research. He has been off the steroid and no problems. His eating habit was the problem and the bowl fixed it. I recommend a slow feeder bowl if you have a pet that gobbles its food. It's much better for digestion for them to eat slowly, or at least slower. This bowl is easy to hand wash. I also put it upside down on a tilt in the top rack of dishwasher to allow less water to rest in bottom. You just need to roll out the top rack slowly. Then empty out the water in bottom of bowl.

Does the trick and was entertaining to watch them learn how to solve this puzzle.
After looking around on Amazon for slow feeders for cats, I found these ones for dogs and cats. I'm sure they'd work great for a dog.I saw some reviews saying this is too deep for cats, and others saying it worked for them but I went for it.The reviews saying it is too deep are true. It is too deep for my cats to eat without their paws. That being said, these did end up working for me and my cats. It detours my cats from just eating everything at once, as it's a little bit of work for them to get the food pushed to a spot they can eat it.Why I bought it:I have one cat who liked to eat like it was the last meal he'd ever see, then get sick. I bought these to see if it's slow him down a bit. since I have two cats, I bought two.Does it work:Yes. Works great for my normal size cats. It'd probably be slightly easier for a dog to get to the food out with their longer tongues. My cats have to use their paws to move the food in to a pile or pull out pieces.Cons:Not really any REAL flaws, as this is for dogs and I'm using it for cats, but worth mentioning for anyone else looking for this as a cat slow feeder solution. My cats use their paws to fish out a couple cat crunchies at a time and the fat cat dragged the food bowl all over the room. My other cat has much more finesse and it doesn't move much. I solved this issue with velcroing the bowls to a food mat

It's not nonslip, but it is effective!
My cat would scarf down food like he was never going to eat again. No, seriously. No matter how much food was in his bowl, he would eat it so fast that he'd end up vomiting, then he'd try to eat that...it was this whole gross ordeal. Well, we started using this bowl, and he couldn't get to the food to eat that fast! He started with fishing pieces with his little paws, which was adorable. Then he got impatient and just...you know...shoved his entire face into the center hard enough to be able to lick up some of the food. That was less cute, but he still couldn't eat so fast he vomited. As for the nonslip part...well, we put this on carpet and it still slid around the whole room. This may or may not have had to do with the amount of force this cat was willing to exert on the bowl as he walked around the room with his face buried in a weird bright green bowl, but yeah, it wasn't nonslip. It never tipped though! The only thing better than this was the electric feeder we got that feeds him on time, every time, with no human error.

I’m so happy with this !!! For my cats !
The media could not be loaded. I’m so happy with this !!! It’s the perfect size not gigantic the pic compares to just a regular sized cereal bowl. I got this for my cats bc I want to leave out food during the day but have it be a little challenging and stimulating for them. This is exactly what I was hoping for ! Other reviews note that cats faces can’t fit in the bowl hahaha ! OBV— that’s the point. They need to figure out a way to get their food out of it other than sticking their faces in it, just use a cat bowl if that’s what you’re going for....... some cats will take longer to get the hang of it and acknowledge it as their food bowl. I started by putting some Greenies dental treats catnip flavor in and my 10 year old girl went at it first !!! She probably ate 4 treats and then decided she was done. Strangely enough she’s not good motivated at ALL so to see her enjoying this was a bonus ! Gisele used her paws like hands and got two treats out in the video attached ! So good. However, my very intelligent, food motivated fatty (he’s 2 years old) almost got a treat out, got distracted, and walked away, my littlest guy (6 months) hasn’t tried it out yet but I’m sure he will !

Very nice.
Pros- it does as advertised. It slows my dogs down just enough to keep them from choking on their food. Comes clean easily. Well made and the rubber feet are easy to remove so they don't get damaged in the dishwasher.Con- It's a little shallow. I feed my 2 5lb poodles 1/2 cup of Fresh Pet small breed dog food and it fills it up. That being said, it will hold a decent amount of dry food (cat or small breed). It's a a tiny bit of a pain to clean in that you have to clean around every piece, but the food does come off easily even if I don't wash it right away. I can't remember if it says it was dishwasher safe or not, but I put it in there from time to time to make sure it's getting cleaned well enough.
