The 1/2" Barb x Insert Coupler HFCD22812 by COLE-PARMER features a quick-disconnect polypropylene body with a barb insert, designed for seamless, secure connections. Rated for up to 60 PSI and 160°F, it includes stainless steel latch springs and a spring-operated 316 SS valve for reliable sealing and durability in industrial and plumbing applications.

## Description

High-flow quick-disconnect couplings consists of a body and an insert (order fitting halves separately). Plug insert into coupling body to connect—fitting halves lock into place immediately. To disconnect fitting halves, simply press the button on the coupling body. Valved models have a spring-operated 316 SS valve that seals the flow path when fitting halves are disengaged. All fitting bodies have 316 SS latch springs and EPDM seals.

**Q: So this fits the lci 5 gallon water can so i can attach a food grade hose and maybe an inline shut off valve?**
A: I used this for a 5 gallon water can and used a step-bit to drill out the hole on top of the can to attach this fitting. It has worked out great so far. Definitely recommend it.

**Q: How does this shut off? it looks totally open from one end to another.  i don't see a shut off valve.  when i disconnect water pours out!**
A: This part does not shut off.  The part that this connects to (with a button on it) does shut off when disconnected.
