2 Pack - 2.25" Top / 1" Mesh, Stainless Steel Slop, Utility, Kitchen and Bathroom Sink Strainer.

I ordered these in mid-November 2017 and was happy with them as they fit my bathroom sink drain perfectly. By mid-December I noticed a little rust forming on the “stainless” steel. I was out of town for a couple of weeks and came back last week to find that the rust was not only on the top of the ring, but was also on the bottom and was leaving a stain on the porcelain. I noticed a lot of positive reviews but I wonder if these were left in the first week after receipt of the product or if mine were from a defective batch.

I gave this a one-star review initially, but I'm switching all the way up to four stars for two reasons.The first is the response of the seller to my complaint. I absolutely cannot fault it - generous beyond what was needed.The second is that, as part of the deal, the seller sent me two of the NEW model of the strainer. These have a perforated metal bottom, NOT a wire mesh, and this gets over all the problems which were detailed below.Let me say that I do not retract a single word of my original negative review. The 'type 1' strainers were and are absolute garbage, IMHO. However, the type 2 (non-mesh) strainers are absolutely fine. Order these, and you will be well pleased with what you receive.(Original review of the mesh strainers follows)We've just got round to opening these, and Amazon, you are doing yourselves a TOTAL disservice by selling this sort of garbage. The idea of a drain strainer is that it catches stuff, so you are supposed to be able to empty them out, no? Well. the wire wrapping where the mesh joins the collar is so shoddy that it's got sharp pieces of wire sticking out (yes, on BOTH of them), it's going to be impossible to clean them out without roughing up your fingers. If I thought it was worth returning them, then they would be on their way back to Amazon right now. For what they cost, it's not worth the hassle.

These will work just fine for smaller bathroom and perhaps kitchen sinks, but they're not intended for large flows of constant water like a tub or shower. In the shower, the drains were backed up with water as the gunk, dirt and body hair collected in the drain. They will catch the tiniest of hair, and other dirt and scum. Which means the product works as it was designed to do.

Not sure if I received the correct product, but these are crap. They do not look like the photo. The part where the mesh meets the top ring is already falling off and all I did was take them out of the package. These would definitely poke you with all the loose metal on them. I would NOT purchase this product, and plan to return it...

Perfect for our bathroom sink at my office. I almost lost a ring down the drain when washing my hands and that is why I purchased these. They fit our standard bathroom sink perfectly. No more worries we will lose any thing down the drain!

The drain stopper broke in my bathroom sink and I've always had clogs in the sink as that is where I do my hair in the mornings. Instead of replacing the drain stopper, I thought I'd give these a try - super glad I have. They fit perfectly, and not a clog since. I've been using one for about 7 months (clean it once or twice a week) and haven't had a clog sine. You can't tell it's there, and looks like it came with the sink. Great product.
