Where were the Editors and proof readers for this book?
This is an interesting story line, that could have been developed into a very engaging novel, which fell horribly short. The author obviously has some knowledge of Florence and the Catholic nunnery, BUT, it ends there. This is a very, very, short book where, throughout, people constantly "smirk" at each other and "chew", 'bite" or "drag their tongue over," their bottom lip. The author's misuse of grammar is maddening (please review the difference between "bring" and "take"!) as well as other glaring inconsistencies. Simona's eyes (described on page 7) are, "...eyes the color of jade", yet they are (page 37) "In her vibrant blue eyes - sapphire," however (page 3) they are again, "...her jade eyes losing their glimmer." The gown given to Simona, in which she is painted, goes from (pg.53) "the sapphire blue velvet gown" to, "My hand reached out and seized a fistful of Emerald velvet." (Pg. 90). How difficult can it possibly be to keep such simple facts straight in a book that's a mere 124 pages?

Kelsey Brickl is such an imaginative writer that she catapults you into the pages and makes you feel like you are actually there, living out the romance for yourself! The way that she describes the intensity between the two main characters has you yearning for more! This book is definitely a page turner that you won't want to put down!

Great historical romance novella!
I truly enjoyed reading Kelsey Brickl's historic romance Paint. It's a quick read with an ending that keeps a smirk on your face for the rest of the day. The historical details and well written character development really make this novella something special. I can't wait to read Mrs. Brickl's next story! Keep them coming please!

Pros and Cons
This book started off well and I liked it until it neared the end, which I did not like. I was quite disappointed. Otherwise, the story was good.

Author needs more experience
It had a good plot but it wasn't fleshed out enough to make it a super read.
