I will attest that this is pretty much accurate, but the difference is marginal.I find that the paste is not as creamy and pliable as the grooming compound, and has a harder and thicker consistency. You really have to work it through your hands and fingers to get it into a texture. Otherwise, you just have chunks of it in your hands.It also has more of a floral scent than the grooming compound. It's not prominent, but not subtle either. I actually kind of like it. The product washes away easily with warm water and soap/shampoo, which is a big plus for me.Overall, this paste gets five stars from me. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd go with the grooming compound because I find it more workable and versatile. But what I found to really work for me is mixing dabs of both the paste and compound. It's the perfect balance of a strong hold, yet pliable, gummy texture that I use to matte-spike my hair, without too much shine.
