Great version of Cold Turkey
For me this is a must have album, if only for one reason: Their rendition of John Lennon’s “Cold Turkey”! They took a good song and made it great. Absolutely a must own CD.

Flavour of the week in 1992
Here is a band that for a few weeks in 1992 you couldn't go very long without hearing their single on most rock stations. John Doe (remember the catchline? "Where's John Doe when you need him?") had everything that could have continued to keep them popular if inner turmoil and record lable BS hadn't taken their toll. They sounded like a spacier version of Jane's Addiction but kept their originality intact. The band did have a previous release, and possibly a post release to Storybook as well. Now they have all but faded into obscurity, moving from upstate NY to Texas, a slight change in the line up... a complete change in sound and a change of the name (I think they are known as Garland or something now).Storybook is the highlight of their short career and should be highly sought after for any alt/indie/shoegazer fans.

Uneven but the good outweighs the bad
Uneven but good outweighs the bad. Some songs seem well written others just thrown together/filler. Overall a good listen every now and then.

The beautiful - Storybook one of the best albums ever
One of the top 5 "story" albums! Comparable to Stabbing Westard, NIN, etc. If I could find any other album from them I would buy it on the spot, but near as I can tell this is their one & only release.
