54923 Brown Sugar Bear, 5-inch High

This is a late review as I purchased these November of 2019. I do love these little sugar bears and they do the job just great. I bought them for Christmas gifts but two of the bears were broken so no gifting there. I can use them my self but I already have two. Now I have two that I use and two broken ones that will fit in somewhere, somehow. Wish they would've packaged the little things better.

I got one of these many years ago and it got broken. I ran across these again and bought multiple ones for gifts. I love the way it keeps your brown sugar so soft. Many people that I gave them to had no idea what they were, but those that did just loved their brown sugar bear. I have got many comments on what a nice gift it was. I put them in organza bags for giving and tied them up with a seasonal ribbon. Great to give when there is a lot of baking to do.

Love my Brown Sugar Bear. Works great.Wanted the 4-pack as advertised, but only one came. Needed one for my cookie jar, brown sugar keeper, and the other two as gifts.Not sure why they have "(4-pack)" listed when only one bear arrives.

I probably had six of these lil guys already, decided I needed more. I have to bake gluten free, so unless you don't know that takes a lot of flours and sugar. These things are easy to clean (go in my dishwasher no problem). Soak them in a little water for a while, pat dry, and put anywhere you need. Sugars, flours, baked goods, and breads. Shipped fast, and arrived very well packaged

I know as a baker you could use bread to keep brown sugar soft. Well, this definitely is worth getting! Ditch the bread and get a bear!! Soak it (follow the directions) and put it in the container. Done. Its great!

I love these little things but I hate the way they came. The 4 little packages are all stapled together with 4 staples and I wanted to give them as cute little Christmas gifts but I had to gingerly unstaple them and pull out and cut my finger which bled like crazy and I had to wipe the blood off of one of the packages (keeping that one for myself lol). Also there was a sticker slapped right over the front of the first package (same one I bled on so worked out) but if your giving as gifts you don’t want that cute little bear packaging covered with an ugly sticker. Just some tips for the seller. If a set of 4 are purchased then more than likely the buyer is giving them as gifts.

Got tired of throwing out boxes of partially used brown sugar that had become rock hard. Have tried processing the hardened brown sugar in my food processor, but that was not very useful. I have tried storing in “airtight” containers which works for a while, but eventually the brown sugar dries out anyway. Looking at online blogs to find other ways of keeping brown sugar soft and moist I came across these. I had several partially used boxes of (now rock hard) brown sugar. Dumped the big hard chunks into a large airtight container, added a properly soaked terra cotta sugar bear and after a few days was delighted to find much of the sugar restored to it’s proper softness. Stirred it all up, resoaked the sugar bear, popped it back into the container and it is now all nicely reconstituted. I will just have to remember to re-soak the sugar bear from time to time. I was a bit sceptical when I read about these, but am now quite a believer. Got a few more to gift to my family members and also put on in my box of raisins.

I was skeptical, but these actually work! Before I tried this I had to break up my brown sugar with a ice pick, it was so hard. But as soon as I put the bear in overnight...It was soft and moist again. I haven't used it to keep cookies soft yet, but I would imagine it would do that same thing. Great product...And great to give for gifts! I gave one to each of my girlfriend's. Some like to bake, some like to get baked 😉 this keeps herbs moist as well lol
