Very bright white light.
I do not have a range hood so I needed a cooking light. Even though it is up much higher than counter height it is still perfect for cooking. I also use it as a night light and it lights up the whole kitchen by itself.

Replaced old ballast system. These are great. a little hard to install but worth it!

Very difficult to install.
Very nice little light, but very difficult to install. You have to mount the light base, then wire it and put it together. Simple solution would be to have mounting tabs sticking out off of the ends. Then you could wire it, put it all back together, then mount it.
