I haven't owned a GoPro but this surely is as good or better. Slick website, great workmanship, helpful and responsive customer service (over email). And the functionality and image quality have been very satisfying. This is one camera that handles several modes of operation very well. Underwater shots at an Oregon fishery are amazing. Sound pick-up is good.I've been using mine for 1-1/2 months in Car Mode and I'm very pleased. I enjoy just watching my 'evidentiary' videos from the SD card. Smooth stabilized capture, 1080p at 60fps, great HDR color. However the sensor in mine sucked. Mid to low light were terribly grainy. It also had artifact defects, which made it look like there was a Snapchat filter on it all the time with 'stars' floating around. Sent mine back as the picture quality wasn't bearable.
