The Byrds: 1964-1967

Great value delivered before due date

Although a lifetime Byrds fan I was still reluctant to fork out the serious money initially being quoted for even the standard publication. However as Amazon were offering a very competitive discount on the price I duly placed an order and was very glad I did. Apart from the sheer quality of the publication, the fact that the three original members of the band have attached their own memories of each photo or context in which it was taken makes the whole project come alive. The package doesn't come with white cotton gloves, but get some as you'll feel it should be handled with the same reverence afforded to ancient, historical documents. Brilliant.

What a brilliant book,easily my coffee table book of the year!This is a magnificent pictorial history of THE classic line up of The Byrds.The records show that The Byrds only ever had one number one hit in the UK,whereas the likes of Take That,Westlife,Boyzone,Jive Bunny and David Soul had over 30 number ones between them......that,as they say is showbiz.But,who was the most influential? I now have the book that answers that question.Roger/Jim,David,Chris,Gene and Michael were the original members of an iconic sixties band,whose influence continues today,more than half a century on from Mr.Tambourine Man.

I'm a HUUUUGE fan of The Byrds, so purchasing this was a total no-brainer, despite the steep price. I guess this was David Crosby's last Byrds project before he passed. I just leave it open and flip pages randomly as I pass by. I'll be discovering cool stuff in this book for years to come. Long Live "America's Beatles".

Esse livro de luxo é um deleite para quem aprecia fotografia, a estética e moda dos anos 60... E principalmente pra quem é fã dessa banda seminal (em seus anos de maior sucesso artístico e mercadológico) esse livrão é obrigatório.

D'une taille imposante et d'un poids tout aussi impressionnant, ce livre renferme des milliers de photos rares des Byrds sur la période 1964 - 1967 (et même bien après).Le papier cartonné glacé est d'une grande qualité.Bref, il s'agit clairement d'une bible bourrée de petites annecdotes facilement compréhensibles même pour les non bilingues.Faites vous plaisir, ce livre vaut son prix.

A thoughtful blend of images and comments by Mc Guinn, Hillman & Crosby. Especially poignant viewing with DC's recent passing. Buy it if you can or wait for the cheaper reprint!
