SeagateExpansion Desktop 18TB External Hard Drive, USB 3.0, 2 Year Rescue Services (STKP18000400)

I have a Plex Server at home that allows me to digitally access all my videos, photos and music. It's very handy but as you can imagine, storage can be an issue as video files especially eat up a lot of memory.I have a 5TB external hard drive but am starting to run out of space. I decided I needed a much bigger storage option and I bought this Seagate for it's size and the reputation of the brand.I have had good experiences with Seagate drives whereas some other brands have failed on me in an unusually short amount of time.I'm super happy with this Seagate drive so far. I saw one review that says it will not run on MacOS which is not true. That person must have simply received a defective product. I have 2 different MacBooks and have no problem mounting this drive to either laptop.The thing that is most impressive about this drive is how fast it is compared to my other external drives. It literally transfers files in about half to even 1/3 the time that it takes to move files onto my smaller 5TB drives.One review says that it is loud. I do find that it is louder than my external 5TB drives but it I wouldn't say that it is inordinately loud. It's a much bigger drive so you need to power it via an AC adaptor, unlike the smaller drives which are powered via the computer's USB port. But that should be expected for any drive that is bigger than 5TB.Overall, this drive is doing the job I need it to do. It's fast and it has plenty of storage to keep my Plex drive storage growing for probably another couple of years. My experience with Seagate drives gives me confidence that the drive will not fail before I need to explore replacing it with a drive of more substantial size.

Using for my dvd/bluray library on kodi. Works great. Even dropped a couple times and still works.

I thought it might be worth it to add a drive to back up my NAS and keep it off sight. This has the same to back up both of my NAS Systems, and I have the space to save 12 months of back ups (I back up to this once a month).I would suggest anyone with a NAS looking for a way to back it up to buy one.

Can't go wrong with these drives. I have almost 20 of them and they all work great.

This product uses a thin plug for the usb connection like a samsung tablet it is very flimsy and was going in and out i had to tape it in place in back of the hard drive to keep the wire from disconnecting. then it quit working after the return window of course. Out a bit of money because of it. i will never use Amazon again. their electronics especially from other countries are bs. I would give it 0 stars but it wont let me. It would be nice to have a warning about the plug.

Works as expected. Fast transfer on USB-C/USB 3.2 port.Seagate Diskwizard (Free backup utility) May not be copying all the partitions from my boot drive. I usually use my old free copy of Macrium Reflect, which will copy the non-standard partitions.

Best hard drive for the price, very satisfied
