Product performed as described...If you are like me, you read reviews to see if the product really is the solution to your problem or the product you are really looking for. To secure your loose straps in order to preserve their life and reliability, this product does the trick. Even tying them down on a road trip, constant battering from the wind at high speeds breaks down your straps. So, it makes sense that protecting them with something like The Strap Jacket would reduce the friction and wear-and-tear on your straps.As somewhat of a "utilitarian," I'm not particularly interested in a gimmick or something that would fall in the "want" category (although I have my weaknesses). I want my purchases to have the biggest bang-for-their-buck by being practical, and multipurpose. Here are the other benefits I recognized from this product:- The Strap Jacket became a useful storing device for my loose straps when not in use. When going camping, my straps usually pile in the back of the car / truck / trailer. The Strap Jacket became a nice tool to keep my straps from getting tangled and mismanaged.- Inevitably, your cargo (in my case, my kayaks) or straps shift a little when you begin to drive. I often will pull over at the beginning of a trip and double check my straps to make sure I tied down the loose ends well enough. I found that my comfort level increased knowing I didn't have loose straps exposed to the high speed winds. They weren't going to come untied through constant flapping.- I often lock my kayaks or bikes to my car racks on road trips. Protecting my items and car from being scrapped or dented by my pad lock by covering it with The Strap Jacket became another additional benefit that stroked that "utilitarian" part of me... see attached picture.- My favorite part about the beginning of a long road trip is when my wife is hyper-sensitive to every foreign or unusual sound (sense my sarcasm). While my wife is now accustom to the random humming of tie-down straps at high speeds, it sure would be nice to eliminate that noise (for many reasons). This last trip I took was by myself so I didn't care too much about figuring out how to eliminate the noise from my straps, but I am eager to see if I can place The Strap Jackets in such a way to keep the straps from vibrating and thus resulting in a calmer ride on my next family vacation... :-)The velcro used is heavy duty and reliable. The only potential caution would be that if you use the "soft and silky" straps, typically a less expensive variety, the hooks from the velcro will catch slightly on the straps. Most of the straps I use are a little more durable, so I didn't notice a problem.Overall, at it's price point, this is a "low-risk" product to met your needs related to using tie-down straps.

Storing tie downs and keeping the excess strap under control are two annoyances I experience with ratchet strap tie downs. These sturdy wraps fix both.The material I heavy enough I'm sure they'll last a long time. Maybe longer than my straps themselves. Since they don't bear significant weight I don't believe the stitching will pull out either. There's plenty of room inside to fit my straps and the ratchet. Large heavy duty tie downs wouldn't fit in it these though.I thought these would be kind of gimmicky but I'm very glad I purchased them. Will buy more with every extra set of straps I buy.

They are perfect. Each holds 1 complete strap per folder for storage and during use holds the excess neatly attached, so everything stays clean and out of the way.

I always hated having to tie my extra strap to itself a million times before driving off and with the strap jacket I dont have to. Its so simple! It also makes it easier to store. Two jackets will actually stick to each other with velcro which is awesome. I'm pretty sure I'll never buy ratchets again without getting one of these to go along with it

No more tying knots to avoid the loose ends that can damage your bike. These work great paired with the "Strap Jacket Heavy Duty Ratchet Straps", that I also purchased on Amazon.

This thing made life so much easier. No straps flying around on top of the car, banging the roof and driving me nuts! Tidy, well made, good quality, simple to use, great product!
