I ordered this scoop plate for my 23 year old Down Syndrome son who has very low fine motor skills. This plate is just too small for someone who eats a man-sized portion. The black rubber non-slip backing came off in the dishwasher, as well. It would also be helpful if the scoop ran around the whole plate. I decided to try and use a frisbee as his "plate" and LOVED the results. The frisbee is 2 inches larger and has a moderate scoop running around the whole rim.

It is definitely not non-skid. There was a thin rubber pad on the bottom, but there is nothing non-skid about it. It slid very easily on all normal surfaces anyone would be putting a plate. even more disturbing, the extended up or "scooper" side of the plate had a "seam" on the outside where it was joined to the regular plate. That seam was not smooth. In fact I would say it could cut the hands of my 93 year old Father. It's hard to imagine how a product of this poor quality can be sold with clear conscience to the elderly, handicapped, and disabled.

Really sammons Preston’s is supposed to be making products for handicapped people! I am very annoyed with this man or company. He or they are money grubbers and just like those ergo mugs and lids at about 31 dollars, this plate came without a rubber bottom,. I think at the cost of $8.00, I sent it back several times and 2 other plates without rubber bottoms. Which is not helping a one handed handicapped person. The reason I bought the plates, not to slide. Each replacement came back the same. A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Beware ofSammons Preston’s and Albeware - the are ....... not good

A chinese copy of a good USA product.Thin plastic and lightweight. Old USA version was a heavy plastic and nice non-slip base.Had I seen this before buying it, I would have searched harder for a better one.

I actually got this for my dog (I know that’s not what it’s intended for) he likes to eat off a plate rather than a bowl but kept pushing the food onto the floor. This works perfectly!!! Have had no mess on the floor since we got it!!! Happy pup!!! Happier mom!!!

My husband has Parkinson's Disease. This plate makes eating neater and easier for him. The rolled rim makes it easy to load food onto the spoon or fork. The coating on the bottom of the plate keeps the plate from sliding around. I ordered the 8" plate. The next size up would have been a better choice. Also, I hand-wash this plate because I'm not sure how long the non-skid surface on the bottom would last if subjected to the dishwasher.I could knock it because it is not pretty in any way, but I got it for it's function and it serves very well.

I bought this for my husband after a stroke left him with the use of only one hand. He can get every last molecule of food with this plate (he was raised to clean his plate before leaving the table so this reduces anxiety for him).The nonstick pad on the bottom works. No sliding plate.I gave him one of my square waffle-textured silicone potholders to use as a non-slide surface for plates and bowls, so with this plate it definitely doesn't go anywhere.

The black rubber base came off/shifted during washing. Not happy with that.
