I’m definitely happy with the purchase and would recommend it to others. The price is fair for what you are getting (honestly the mat is almost TOO big for me but that’s my fault for not really thinking more about dimensions ahead of time). I only have two observations/suggestions: it seems the red marker is the hardest to get off the mat for some reason. The black is the easiest. I don’t know if there is anything that can be done about that and it’s not a complaint at all. It’s just a “thing”. I have no idea if you can package different colors with it maybe? Also, and this is VERY nit picky but there are spots here and there on the mat where the laminate isn’t smooth and there are small wrinkles/air pockets. They are mostly near the edge and not an issue for gameplay but you do see them. Again, they don't impact you use/enjoyment of the product but they are there.

I've used it for about a year now, and I can attest to the quality. The cardboard cylinder it comes in is great storage, and it's size is the main thing I was looking for. I just use normal expo markers on it, but the original ones worked well, too. The eraser is also nice. They do seem to advertise a bunch of laminated stickers, which simply didn't exist for mine. If you're looking for a large, convenient mat, I recommend this one.

I was rather excited when I got the s because it looks sturdy and beautiful. It wipes clean easily. The only problem is that a month after getting it the laminate started slowly peeling up. It has now spread across the width of the map. It stays stored in the tube it came in when not used. I still love it and I am just glad it is on one end rather than the middle, so it's still usable. This wasn't a cheap purchase as compared to other maps I have gotten that didn't have this issue.

Starting off, it's a thin material laminated on front. The back is semi non slip. It's thinner than poster board. At first I was a little upset, I was thinking it would be like my last one that was a foam material. But, I have changed my stance on it after 5 sessions. This is pretty freaking great! I tried to find something negative, but it's useless. This mat is on point. It's huge. I could trim it into 4 smaller mats and still be happy. The backing is amazing for the durability and flexibility. I thought to myself at first I could make something better and cheaper. I looked into it at the office supply store, and it would have run me closer to $70. And it would have been posted paper backed with a laminate at 5mm. This thing is thinner and heeler l heavier duty then I expected. The mat was clear and well printed. For the price,I can't believe the quality.

I havn't used it in any of my pathfinder session yet. I have tested though I really enjoy it. I was a little dissapointed as I thought it would be similar to a play-mat texture (like used in magic the gathering), so it would lay out a little better. Another item which would be neat cases for the mat for easy storage/travel (i'm unaware if you sell other merch).

Melee Mats came packed well with no damage in the shipment. The product contained everything that was promised. The size was good, but the materials were a bit on the flimsy side. PROS: Size was exactly what I needed Extras were a nice addition Easy to draw on and clean Lightweight CONS: Materials are flimsy After only 1 use, there were already creases created in the map itself Have to weigh down edges to keep flat SUMMARY: I would definitely not pass this up if you are looking for a reasonably priced rpg mat, however I do not know how long this product is going to last.

I'm having the same issue almost everyone else is, contacted melee maps to see what they'll do. Less than an hour into drawing and I'm noticing a "wrinkling/bubbling" of the laminate in several spots. EDIT: BUYER BEWARE This product IS NOT covered under Amazon's return policy. Day 2 of owning the product and the laminations bubble "lines" run the SPAN of the map from top to bottom and in varied distances from left to right, save your money and buy elsewhere Edit as of 10/1/20 After Amazon did their thing melee mats finally got in touch with me (about 2 weeks so not great), they ended up sending a new melee mat out. I haven't used it yet it's stayed rolled up as I haven't been able to play, however I hope to use it soon. I checked it and there was no wrinkling or bubbling, seems they got me one without a defect and I have to say i am happy, but skeptical with it. I'm leaving them a good review in hopes that this will be the last update I have to make.

When I ordered this a year ago the PVC mats from another company were in short supply, so I went with this laminated paper one instead. Didn't end up using it for 6 months and left it in the packaging. unrolled it on a table and maybe used it once or twice. Had creases in it that cover most of the map. It's usable but pretty crappy. Contacted customer service when I saw the other reviews here but they told me it's been too long since I ordered for them to do anything--so I guess I'll get a PVC one for my upcoming campaign. The material is nowhere near as nice as the pvc or vinyl playmat versions that are available for the same price and the creasing of the lamination makes it hard to draw on and hard to use minis on it. My nephews have had one of those since I bought for them 8+ years ago and we still use it when we play. Caveat emptor.
