But if you're familiar with programming and know other languages, this will get you up to speed with Java quickly. The way I used it is a good example. I bought this because I took a Java II college course, and it had been over year since I'd taken Java I. This book provided a good refresher to get me back up to speed for my Java II course, and in that respect it was perfect. The beauty of this "In One Day" series is that it's bare bones information with all the proverbial fat trimmed off. So it's great for what I used it for. Probably not so great if you've never programmed before.
