Fishbites Fish'n Strips - Crab

Used these for the first time as an alternative to shrimp. The are not messy, do not make you hands smell. The mesh core of this bait makes them extremely durable, and they stay on your hook very well, cast after cast. I much prefer to frozen bait, and live bait can be sketchy to find some days, and requires a bait well or bucket. I did catch at least one fish with these (only 3 other people on the boat caught a fish) so I would have to say they work. Good value, and close the package and you are ready for your next trip. My package had a best used date several months out, so that makes this product a great value. I was tired of tossing 50cent a piece live shrimp over the side on the way back to the dock.

I have always had good luck with Fish bites. And today was no different we were using real sand fleas and Sand Flea flavored fish Bites. We got equal amounts of hits on both life bait and the Fish Bites. However this new formulas they are using desolve very quickly. The old formula ones last 2-3 times longer than this new style. If you can find the older style I would get them. These devolve after about 20-30 minutes. Where as the older style lasted much longer. The new style does work but be aware the of the fast dissolve rate. Sometimes newer does not always mean better... But these will catch fish!

I switched to these several years ago to replace purchasing blood worms and shrimp. Great fish catchers. All that I use in the surf.

I don’t really know what to think about this. I buy these all the time from my local bait shop, and they are bright orange and soft. They come in the long ribbons, and I cut them to the size I want. Since my bait shop was out of stock, I bought them here on Amazon. They appeared to be the same except they were a dull burnt orange color as well as stiffer and dry. I couldn’t tell if they were old and out-of-date, but they didn’t look and feel the same for sure. Thinking it was a fluke, I ordered a couple more packs and the same thing. I wasnt really sure about the difference in fishing until I was finally able to buy a new pack from my local bait shop so I used the Amazon fishbites on one hook and the bait shop fishbites on the other hook of my high low rig. The bait shop fishbites seem to perform better so I am assuming the Amazon ones are really old and not fresh. I will try to upload a picture for the side by side comparison.

I get these Fishbites every time I take a fishing trip from the midwest to the Gulf of Mexico. They are easy to use, stay on the hook and the fish seem to love them. They come in a variety of "flavors" and they all seem to work when I am fishing from the beach.

Really enjoyed small fish action from shore and bridge. Only thing that was not ready it is very hard , need players to remove mesh if left from hook. Beside that cool stuff.
