A snood is a little cap or bag for a lady to wear her hair in. Until this century, married and respectable women always wore their hair covered by a cap of some sort. Looking like you just woke up might be trendy today, but if you're dressing up for a Renaissance Fair or an SCA event, you can add a lot to your costume with this simple piece. These snoods are great for Renaissance Faires; SCA or LARP events; or Civil War or WWII re-enactors. They are also a colorful way for caterers and restaurant workers to keep their hair neatly out of the way.

Roomy, comfortable, makes me think service industry
The circumference of my head — along the hairline, behind the ears, at the neck — is 22.5". This did not give me a headache. Big plus. Elastic headbands often do. The elastic was snug enough to hold its grip pretty well, but it still slid off very slowly, so I pinned it in place with two pairs of bobby pins. Held perfectly. From hairline to ends, my hair is 23.5". The circumference of my ponytail is about 3.25" at the base of my skull. There is AMPLE space. Room to grow.I had difficulty with some hairs coming out through the holes, near the top. I had difficulty with the elastic pulling up just enough that it didn't cover all the hair at the nape of my neck and many hairs worked loose there also. I looked a bit frazzled by the end of the day.I don't care for the pattern. It's somewhere between grid and hexagon, with occasional threads that seem out of place. Nicely loose and stretchy, but just calls to mind service industry more than ren faire. But looking at others, they seem to all be this pattern.

hold hair in place
This is well made and comfortable. Purchased to wear with a formal gown and wanted a vintage hair style. Decorated with a flower and it looks great. Would buy again.

FAIRE WEAR
Snood is put together well, however, I ordered pink and in the picture it looks like a rose pink. When it arrived, it was HOT pink. A little too bright for my costume that is rose colored.

It’s just what I wanted
I would’ve liked that letting to have been crocheted a little bit smaller

Fits nicely
The length is great for shoulder length or longer hair. Very comfortable and stays put

Use to and Still do love these
I use to wear these all the time when I was 17, 18, and 19. I'm almost 35 now. I saw this product on here and thought I'd get it b/c I use to like it so much. It feels barely a bit bit but it fits and doesn't slide off. I really love these b/c I can keep my hair completely out of my face without need to tie it back and then have a hair tie mark in my hair when I pull it back. I would recommend this also for people who have to wear a hair net at work, if your employer says it's okay. Also, wash this by hand. Or tie it off inside of a pillow case and use delicate cycle. If you don't hang dry it, I would only use the lowest heat level in the dryer. These are delicate. Not so much that they unravel just by using it. But you'll get the point once you receive it. This is a good quality one. I am happy I got it.

It's just what it looks like
It really controls my wild hair but my hair is too thin for the snood to really work for me.
