These do what they say as far as blocking light. Nothing else I have tried comes close.I am docking one star on the price for the quality. They are almost like a prototype in that they look and feel unfinished. The place this shows up that is important to me is the adjustable points are difficult to get into position and do not hold. If they cost a little less they would get the 5 stars.I was wondering if the same could be accomplished by painting a pair of swimming googles black - but the pressure of the band would bother me. These eye shades are excellent. I was wondering about the design feature where there is no nose bridge but after trying them, I understand why they were designed that way. The eye cups fit perfectly over each eye and a nose bridge wouldn't allow for the airtight fit. When I have there on, no light gets through and I feel like its nighttime. It allows me to sleep restfully.

Dark for real but uncomfortable when you lay back on them.

If you have a narrow face or smaller features these will not provide coverage. Because they are too big, they don't seal completely, creating gaps at the sides that allow light in. If they made these in a smaller size, they would be perfect.

This could be such a great item, but, as other reviewers have noted, it's far too small. If it were large enough to fit. Sadly, the pressure it put on my eyes was too great to keep it on for more than a couple seconds - back in the box to return. But if they make a larger size in the future I'll buy it right away.

Love these blackout glasses. Now I can rest in the sun more comfortably.

These things do exactly what they're supposed to, but only if your head and eyes are small enough for it to fit you. I'm just below the advertised maximum head size and even after messing with the adjustment mechanism a little, it still doesn't fit me. Also, the manufacturer needs to pay a lot more attention to their mold shapes and the materials they use. With the exception of the eyecups, these things are made entirely out of hard plastic and every edge that makes contact with skin is pointed, if not outright sharp. Not the kind of thing you're going to want to wear for an extended period. The eyecups seem like they probably would not be that uncomfortable, but I'm not going to spend enough time enduring these things trying to pull my eyeballs apart to find out.TL;DR version: Really uncomfortable unless you have a tiny head. Only needs minor redesigns to be an insomniac's best friend.
