Review: Fantastic Center Channel Speaker - I purchased this speaker to replace an old small Bose center channel speaker I had been using for many years. I decided to replace it as it was becoming harder to understand spoken parts in many movies and current shows. I got this as it was to be placed under my TV on a shelf attached to the wall mount. It just does fit on the shelf as it is wider than my previous speaker. If you want a Klipsch center speaker to go on your wall mount shelf this is going to be your only choice from what I could find. Other speakers were much wider and would never fit, so make sure you check your measurements for your shelf and the speaker, as well as, how much weight your mount and shelf can hold. Back to the speaker, it looks beautiful and the sound quality is years ahead of my last speaker. The clarity of spoken lines is excellent and the mid-range is great. It made all my TV watching so much better and clearer. Thias is part of a5.1 surround sound system with 2 Klipsch Floor speakers as front left and right speakers and two Bose speakers in the back, left and right. I expect I will replace those two rear Bose speakers once I save up some money too. I have found I really like the sound of Klipsch speakers above all others I have listened to. I highly recommend this speaker for your home theater system. Review: Excellent for Dialogue! - The 404C II fits perfectly on the cabinet under my TV with no worries about rear port clearance. After initial calibration (CF@100hz) I'm hearing much clearer dialogue and small sounds in movies I didn't even know were there! Yes, the 404C II doesn't reach as far down as the 504C II, but since dialogue is the priority and bass goes to the twin 12" Klipsch subs I doubt I'm missing anything with the smaller woofers. Although a little pricey, the 404C II is worth it in my book. ## Features - BIGGER TRACTRIX HORN: A new, larger 90° x 90° silicone composite hybrid Tractrix horn provides crisper, clearer dialogue. - LINEAR TRAVEL SUSPENSION (LTS) TITANIUM DIAPHRAGM TWEETER: The exclusive 1” LTS minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. - VENTED TWEETER DESIGN: The vented tweeter housing enhances the detail in what you hear. - ALL-NEW CERAMETALLIC WOOFERS: Updated for absolutely flawless sound reproduction, minimum distortion, and maximum efficiency. - SEALED DESIGN: An all-new shallow-depth sealed design allows for this center channel speaker to be used for in-wall placement and prevents bass-loading against a back wall in tight spaces like fireplace mantles. What you get is crisp, clear vocals in a small and versatile package. - BI-WIRING/BI-AMPING CAPABILITY: Dual input terminals for bi-wiring/ bi-amping capabilities separate high and low-frequency current into different speaker cables, reducing distortion for clearer midrange. - NEW LOOK: Furniture grade materials and finishes make these speakers a statement piece for any room. - REMOVABLE GRILLE: Attaches magnetically for an elegant transition from powerful showstopper to discrete performance piece. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09VCDKKK5 | | Additional Features | Dolby Enabled | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Antenna Location | For Televisions | | Audio Driver Type | Dynamic Driver | | Audio Output Mode | Stereo | | Best Sellers Rank | #41,199 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #23 in Center-Channel Speakers | | Brand | Klipsch | | Built-In Media | Speaker | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Television | | Compatible with Vehicle Type | Car | | Connectivity Protocol | Coaxial | | Connectivity Technology | Coaxial | | Control Method | Remote | | Controller Type | Corded Electric | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 103 Reviews | | Enclosure Material | MDF, Vinyl | | Frequency Response | 20 KHz | | Impedance | 8 ohm | | Is Waterproof | FALSE | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 6.47"D x 26.85"W x 5.72"H | | Item Weight | 20.3 pounds | | Manufacturer | Klipsch | | Model Name | RP-404C II Eby | | Model Number | RP-404C II Eby | | Mounting Type | Tabletop Mount | | Number of Audio Channels | 1 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Series Number | 4 | | Speaker Maximum Output Power | 500 watts | | Speaker Size | 4 inches | | Speaker Type | Monitor | | Subwoofer Connectivity Technology | Wired | | Subwoofer Diameter | 4 inches | | Tweeter Diameter | 1 inches | | UPC | 743878046472 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 5 year manufacturer | | Warranty Type | Limited | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | | Wireless Technology | No Wireless Communication Technology | | Woofer Diameter | 4 inches | ## Product Details - **Audio Output Mode:** Stereo - **Brand:** Klipsch - **Connectivity Technology:** Coaxial - **Frequency Response:** 20 KHz - **Speaker Maximum Output Power:** 500 watts ## Images ![Reference Premiere RP-404C II Ebony Center Channel Speaker - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51S-2civInL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Could this speaker be used for lcr use?** A: Thanks for your question. A center channel speaker is designed specifically to function positioned between front left and right speakers. Using it as an LCR (vertically) will compromise dispersion and tonal balance. World Wide Stereo – since 1979 – and a proud authorized Klipsch dealer. **Q: Is this an improvement over the Klipsch C-2?** A: From our Klipsch experts at ListenUp: Yes! We can say with confidence that this is a massive upgrade from the Klipsch C-2. The RP-404C II has newer technology, better drivers, and a better design. You'll definitely hear the improvements if you upgrade. **Q: How big of an upgrade are these over the R34c percentage wise?** A: The RP-404C will be a dramatic upgrade from the R-34C, as the RP-404C will utilize higher quality materials for the tweeter and woofers. **Q: Is this really only 6.47" deep? even though the rp-404c is 13"? why such a difference?** A: Thanks for your question. The RP-404c II is a sealed cabinet acoustic suspension design which requires a smaller volume enclosure compared to the bass reflex design of the RP-404c.
