So Layrite cement clay is nice, feels strong at first, but, it does lose a lot of it's hold after like 3 to 4 hours. This stuff, it takes a minute to settle in, but then, the dryness comes out and the hold sets in. And then it's smooth sailing. Another thing is the shine. Layrite is not a matte finish. It's a natural - low shine finish. This Reuzel Extreme, It's a very well balanced product. You have the slightest sheen at first when you apply, but it applies with minimum tug. And then, a minute later or so, when it sets, it then turns into a nice matte finish. **Q: Does it run down if you get rained on or start sweating?** A: Can’t speak for rain, we don’t have much here, but sweat doesn’t seem to be a factor. Of course how much you use could impact your experience **Q: Is this good for lady’s pixie cut to piece it out?** A: Based on what that cut looks like. I would say probably not. It had a pretty strong hold that doesn't give it that real natural look. The matte is fine, just the texture would be more clotted. I would suggest maybe the kingpin matte clay pomade. It's softer with a decent hold. Smells like a cola gummy bear though. **Q: Is there a Reuzel product with a stronger hold than this? I feel like it still doesnt hold all day** A: Mine holds like glue. I would guess your experience is because this isn't the actual product. Clean washout *by M***. on 6 December 2023* I’ve used the Reuzel “White” clay matte water soluble pomade tin for a few years now and love it, but wanted to check out one with slightly firmer hold and this was PERFECT! It’s almost just as easy to work with and prep, applied cleanly, smells like sugar cake dessert and washes out easily with no residue! The extra hold is actually fantastic for how easily the grey and white rinse out afterward. I’d say this one grips 30% stronger and stays together without being sticky or waxy ALL DAY long for me. I have very fine curly/wavy hair and after bathing this applies easily and holds damp hair right away, then dries quick too. After a follow up ruffling of the hair, this pomade comes out matte, invisible and so clean looking, while keeping my hair out of my face and even allows for a little cowlick on one side that holds throughout a full work day no problem. Really love it and will be buying a bigger tin to keep in my daily rotation!
