Face to Face: Amazing New Looks and Inspiration from the Top Celebrity Makeup Artist

I just Recieved my 2nd book and appreciate how Scott is so humble and puts every aspect of his life in the book aside from makeup techniques I must add he mentiOns the Bible in his first book "About Faces"the book of Esther and how beauty is began inside then out! I highly recommend this book as ambitious &firm believer of being a blessing to others as I am in our industry it teaches how helping others to be the best they can be in any field success comes naturally. The makeup techniques are flawless using any brand of makeup can create flawless effects with passion. I love Scott Barnes personality and heart and believe these books (I own 2) are heartwarming, inspiring and teach us beauty is created in all forms especially coming from a MuA starts within ourselves. Thank you Lord for creating us uniquely& Scott Barnes to help us reveal and enhance our uniqueness in a beauty defining way! God bless you'll richly❤Get your books and anticipate more books to come! I was extrememly amazed with the first book, "About Face" that Scott Barnes released with Jennifer Lopez on the cover. So, I was so excited when I heard he was coming out with "Face to Face". I ordered it from Amazon right away and the day it got delivered, I could not put it down. I love all the transformations of the incredible women he did. My favorite was with Vanessa Williams......absolutely amazing. I have been a makeup artist for some time now and I still love to refresh myself with new/old techniques and challenge myself to create looks from other artists who inspire me and that person is Scott Barnes!!!

With the passing of Kevin Aucoin many years ago, I wondered if there would be another artist of the same caliber! Needless to say that I have found it in Scott Barnes! His work is, to say the least, beyond fabulous! He is more than just a makeup artist, he is a real artist in every sense of the word. His work is breathtaking and his talent permeates every single page! He also does something which most books don't and that's tell us products to use to create his looks ourselves! Thank you thank you thank you Scott Barnes!!!

I'm going to do my best to be as fair as possible.First of all, this book does not break down a whole lot. It's a lot of "what inspired me to do this look on so-and-so was...." followed by a (in my opion) vague description of what was done. I was hoping for more of an in depth break down. You won't get that here. You will get a rough description of how he gets a look, then there is a whole lotta smoke from various celebs on why Scott is such a great artist, or smoke from him on why celebX is so great. Obviously, I bought the book because I know he's amazing at what he does, I didn't need to pay to hear that from Kim Kardashian... Secondly, most of the pictures are NOT overly up close so it's going to be difficult even for the people out there who can eye-ball and then recreate a look (unless you already have a TON of experience, or you were smart enough not to order this on Kindle lol). I honestly learned more from watching the few of the youtube videos he has out there.That all being said, it probably wasn't the best book to order for kindle fire (my bad). Also, the makeup books I DO have are by Nars and Kevyn Aucoin, which are more "how-to." Perhaps I ordered this book assuming too much?Lastly, the book IS priced well +, it IS by an amazing artist +, it is a great easy reading book +. Just because I didn't learn anything I didn't know already, doesn't mean others won't. I have to admit his transformations are always impressive, and by the end of the book I couldn't help but to respect the relationship he has developed with his clients. This book didn't give me what I hoped for, but all in all, I'm still a big Scott Barnes fan. I gave the book a 4 because I feel like a large part of my disappointment came from My assuming too much.

I purchased this book without even thinking about it! , I have Scott Barnes first book, and I love it!!! I learned so much from it before attending makeup school in Canada. His techniques are amazing, all of his work is amazing , the way the book leads you into the makeup world is very clear, very well explained and edited. I'm from Mexico , so english is my second language, and its been pretty easy to understand and follow up. Besides the price is more than fair, its totally worth it!I totally recommend it!

This book, more than anything else, was annoying to read. If you're looking for actual, step-by-step instructions on how to achieve different looks, this is not the book to read. It offered, to me, very little information that I could use in my everyday routine. If you're looking for a book filled with "I know Kim, I know Paris, I know Raquel, - and this was how I thought she would look in my current fantasy".... then a high fashion photo, followed by the celebrity's ode to how much SHE admired and loved HIM (the makeup artist) - after the third celebrity, I lost interest. They all looked and sounded the same, with very little to offer to your every day look, other than some common sense stuff you can get on You tube, but without all the drama. Actually, I wish I had spent the time I wasted on this book ( not to mention the money) watching a few makeup tutorials instead of this "I'll stroke your ego, then you can stroke mine" self-indulgent bore of a book. I would have learned more. My two word summary? Don't bother.

I must say it's a nice book but it wasn't what I expected. I was hoping to see Kim's makeup on the cover recreated within the book but no such luck. That was really the whole reason I purchased the book. The photos are lovely but I'm not interested in seeing another Kevyn Aucoin. No one can come close to the talent that man had not even Scott Barnes. If you are looking for the cover photo recreated within the pages check youtube because you aren't going to find it within the pages of this book. If you are looking for a wanna be Kevyn Aucoin or just like look at beautiful pics this book is for you!

hen my daughter opened it on Christmas Day she had a big smile on her face. She has wanted this book for a little while.I don't know anything about the contents but my daughter is a make-up artist and is very pleased with this book.

Molto meglio il libro precedente dello stesso autore. Questo ha poche immagini con i passaggi step by step. E' più un libro raccontato.

Lots of really good information, tips, and pictures. I refer back to this time and time again.
