OceanMotion Foldable 3.5 lb Galvanized Anchor for Kayaks, Canoes, Dinghy's and PWC

I got the anchor and used it right away. The capture mechanism worked well to both hold it closed and open. I tethered it with a polermo knot and put it into a zipper go-bag with the tag end sticking out. When I got on the spot I wanted to fish, I was able to quickly pull the tag end out, tether it to the yak, open and lock the anchor, and lower it into the soft bottom of the lake, where it held perfectly. Gathering back into the bag and folding was effortless and quick.

The collar locks it both open and closed great for Sandy muddy bottoms. Not so much when it gets hung up on debris unless you tie it right and use a breakaway line like you're supposed to. My friend lost his because he didn't use a breakaway line.

We use them for our paddleboard yoga class. Easy to throw, good hold

Purchased this for my fishing kayak. I bought the 3.5lb instead of the 1lb because other reviewers complained that 1lb was not enough. It is easy to use and seems to grab the bottom of the lakes I have fished in just fine. It provided more than enough drag to hold my boat in a single position.

My anchor was defective. You may ask why I say this, here is why I say this, today I was able to use the anchor for the first time I was in calm lake I used a carabiner to hook my rope to the anchor bottom eyelet then ran the line up the anchor to the top and fasten it with a zip tie. while pulling up the anchor the zip tie broke no issue but then where the carabiner was hooked to the anchor it broke and went to the bottom of the lake. The carabiner and rope did not break and those are the weakest points in my opinion they should have broke first but they didn't, the anchor mount loop broke. I know things happen but this is unacceptable, especially for being used only once. I could have just got a bad anchor but because it drop to the bottom of lake I don't have a picture of what happened. So I am out a anchor.

It’s heavy and sticks in the mud. Which is generally what I look for in an anchor.

Makes fishing from the canoe much more fun when there is any current and/or wind. Very easy to use, lightweight and well made.
