Demeyere Atlantis 1.1 Quart Saucepan with Lid

I was expecting the pot to arrive on the 19th but it actually came 3 days early! In my humble opinion, this is the best cookware you can buy! Sturdy stainless steel with a layered bottom for even cooking — it is practically non-stick! I have the soup pot, 2 frying pans, a larger sauce pan and now the smaller one. I use it every day. My everyday cookware collection is now complete!

I'm almost seventy y o, and this is the best saucepan I've ever had!

This pot is crazy expensive and I know I'm supporting the retirements of Belgian workers which I don't particularly want to do, but this is the nicest pot I have ever owned. I leave it on the stove so I can look at it (I guess it counts as art too). I recently replaced most of my pots with All-Clad, which are very nice, but I like the Demeyere better (sigh). I will slowly add a few more pieces. This is aesthetic only -- the All Clad works very well and will outlast me as will the Demeyere. Check this stuff out as you're not going to have to replace it, ever, and make sure you pick your very favorite since a pot is something you use every day and should be beautiful.

My new recipe requires me to fry brown rice before adding water to it. For this task, I felt it was essential to use a heavy pan. The recipe specified the pan size, and, since I had cut the recipe in half, I needed a one quart pan. I was really happy that I had purchased this pan several years ago because it’s heavy and perfect for frying without damaging food or pan. I soon found out just what frying raw brown rice entails when it started sizzling, and the rice and oil bubbled up. The recipe called for stirring constantly, which I did, and then adding the water “carefully.” The rice came out fine, and the pan just needed a quick wash. So I recommend this small pan as part of a well-stocked kitchen.

I believe that Demeyere is the best cookware available. It is beautiful and durable, but most importantly it is versatile. I prefer the looks of the Atlantis line to the Apollo line that is a bit more reasonably priced, but they are both very nice. I purchased two pans from Creations by Christy because they were the most reasonably priced vendor. Both products were shipped without the original Demeyere packaging, but included the literature and original tags. I can live without the packaging for a $60.00 savings. All Demeyere products come with a 30 year warranty. Demeyere cookware works on all types of cooktops including induction. Demeyere was the original company to successfully invent a product to work with induction, so why not go with the experts?
